Hello! I'm really hoping someone can help me identify this pony. I purchased it in a lot from someone who didn't seem to know much about MLP. The picture of the bottom of the hooves is bad, but the raised right fore hoof has a heart stamped inside and the rear hooves say Made in China. There's no date of manufacture or company of manufacture unless the heart stands for something. The body is a very hard material that glows in the dark, and the glowing really caught me by surprise! It looks like a genuine MLP rather than a fakie but it's not one I ever remember seeing here in Canada. Perhaps it's a more recent reproduction pony? The tinsel in the hair and the hardness of the body screams G2 to me but the size/pose is G1. If anyone can help me put a name to this lovely creature I would appreciate it. :)

That is an HQG1C pony - "High Quality G1 Custom", named Marina. She's sold here:

Clipper makes and sells these "custom" ponies to this day using molds they've made. While they're "customs" they're made from the ground up, so existing G1 ponies aren't harmed. Marina and others Clipper has made never existed as a part of official production, they are custom designs. I have a couple myself. ^^ Honestly want a lot more haha.

Welcome to the Trading Post, by the way!

Is it the heart on the hoof that gives away that they're HQG1C ponies? I'm actually just discovering these myself.

going to look at the page now

I'm not sure, for me personally I'm just familiar with most of the HQG1C ponies. I've browsed the site a number of times, and I am a member of the Discord as well so I get updates. Since none of them replicate official ponies - other than maybe a couple of babies made, but then they're still not look-alikes - it's pretty easy to recognize them as long as I know the pony.

There aren't too many, so it's not too hard to remember them all.

That said, I can check mine to see if they have hearts, and... of my four ponies and three kitties, all but two of them have the heart. The two that do not have the heart are both ponies and they have nothing, no text or anything, on their hooves.

I did notice though that they all have that silkier hair material, so it's more shiny and slick and doesn't have as much bounce. I'm not familiar enough with the hair materials to know which one that is, but it's not the same as the G1s I've got.

They have a Facebook page, too. That’s where I found them when they made the first. Genie.

Yeah~ I have facebook blocked out the wazoo though so I don't go on there. They also have a website, hqg1c.com. The facebook seems to be the best place to go for updates, Clipper seems to favor it, but you can pretty much get updates in any of them.

Is Clipper the only one that makes them? I’m glad they make shells for sea ponies, I might order one

And this is great info for “newbies” like me who’s still learning about the ponies- rather, first time serious about learning and discovering. Thanks!

As far as I know, I think so, yeah. Clipper has one or two other members of the community who also help distribute the HQG1C ponies, but I think that's as far as it goes.

Glad I could help haha.

Clipper started it, but now he has someone handling distribution in both Canada and the UK with ponies exclusive to those countries, too.

Thank you for letting me know, Glistening Rainlight! Maybe I shouldn't have checked out the website because now I want to collect the HQG1C ponies too lol. They're really quite attractive.

Right?! Haha, there are a couple in particular I'm sooooooo tempted by.... But I'm really trying not to spend much right now. It's kinda driving me nuts.
