Hi, everyone!

I grew up with hand-me-down G1 ponies and the old G1 movies. I thought that part of my life was over; then, last weekend, I discovered the Basic Fun retro G1 line. Now I can be part of the fun as new releases arrive!

It's so wonderful to find an actual forum to talk about this stuff on, too. Seems like so much of social media is either indecipherable or just ads now.

Choosing a favourite pony is really tough, but Dancing Butterflies will always hold a special place in my heart because a neighbor with a huge, cherished collection gave her to me as a child. It was extra special because a gift chosen from a collector is a true sacrifice.

Well. I have rambled on long enough. I am looking forward to meeting and chatting with my fellow forum-goers!

Thank you! I am hoping that maybe other like-minded people will end up returning to/discovering the forum format for discussion and they will experience a renaissance.

I had a pony friend neighbor as a kid that was an influence, too. Good memories to cherish!

Welcome! Dancing Butterflies is a wonderful gift! I accidentally ended up with my BFF’s Windy when I moved away when we were 8 and she’s always been special to me for that reason. Though apparently she was never missed because I told my friend about it two decades later when we reconnected and she had never noticed!

By the way, since you said you're coming back to MLP because of the new pony releases... I'd recommend checking out the HQG1C fan project- they produce and sell custom ponies in the style of G1! (This isn't an ad for them LOL-- It just sounds like you'd enjoy them!)

That's such a lovely story! It's funny how much more something can mean to us when it belonged to someone special.

That's what drew me to this community; so many online spaces are a little catty for my liking. Toys should be fun! :)
