Hey everyone,

I've been offline for almost two years now! I hope everyone's doing well. I missed the trading post very much. I apologize if I didn't get back to anyone's messages, I had a life crash and had to start over again. The Trading Post's new look is awesome. Can't wait to start posting and hanging out again ^.-.^

Oh WaterRaven! I'm so glad to see you've returned! I'm sorry to hear things have been rough, I think a lot of us have been kicked by life lately.

Are you still doing your paintings? And how are your pets?

Yes, I agree. Hard times seem to be contagious lately. I hope you are well ^_^

I am definitely still doing paintings! I've mostly been focused on writing. Despite the life issues, my books are doing well. I finally finished my second book and am working on my third!!! I'll have to put some artwork up once I get a chance. Most of it has been related to my books or for my website, but they're all magical creatures and fun to work on. Can't wait to share!

I still have my pup, horse, and fish ^_^ They are all very well. How are you?? What have you been up to?
 
Yay glad you came back. I think I was gone two years also.
 
Yea, my life went south with friends passing away and dads cancer..then husband was out of work for over a year. Oh joy of all joys. Sadly thing have not improved much lol. Oh my avatar was made by Philly. Its Mainsail the Sea pony. Lol I adore Mainsail. She is a favorite. Do you have a favorite pony? It took me a while to realize who my favorite was.

I am so sorry to hear all of that :sadpony: and especially that things haven't improved as much. I find when things get hard, I lose myself in hobbies, especially uplifting ones like the ponies. I was out of touch for so long because I lost my job, my ex left, and then sadly I was sleeping on couches for a couple of months because I was homeless (not on the streets, luckily). Most of my stuff is still in storage, but things are looking up now. I sincerely hope things get better for you soon.

I honestly don't have a fave pony at the moment. I'm considering re-watching the G1 series. I love the first movie, but I find, except for Firefly, we don't get much a feel for the personality of the others (I remembered Medley and Bubbles the most though). I liked My Pony Tales when I was a kid and have thought about re-watching those as well, but I always preferred the magical series with unicorns and pegasus ponies. I honestly can't watch the G3 cartoons, wish I could. G4 is tough for me because the character development is great (but I prefer the look of old style pones). I don't completely relate to any of the main characters, I like aspects of each of them. I love the way Rarity looks, I love Fluttershy's love of nature and animals, and I love how magical Twilight Sparkle is, but I also love Princess Luna! So hard to pick...

And so, I am .... up in the air at the moment. Sorry for the long explanation! Hahaha. I've been thinking about it for a while, but nothing's come up. Oh, AND I have a serious love for Discord on top of it all :ponylove:

I'll try to rewatch the G1 series and get a more of a feel for the sea ponies. One day I'll see who I flock to!
 
Oh yes the hobbies are a wonderful distraction. I am sorry to hear about your job loss also. Isn't that just the most stressful thing ever? It is awful you lost your relationship. I am so sorry to hear that. I am glad you had people willing to take you in. I really never picked a G1 favorite based on the cartoons. I would say I love Clover from the Pony Tales though. My biggest complaint on G1 cartoon series is the funky sounding voices. LOL For G3 the cartoons make me feel like poor Wednesday from the Adaams Family stuck in the Happy Hut. LOL For the G4 FIM...I only watched it briefly. I don't really collect G4, but I do like Blind bags and Mini figure packs. My reason for likeing those has nothing to do with the show really. I really can't say I identify at all with any of the characters but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Applejack and Applebloom.
I love the sea ponies and I really like the bushwoolies in the original series. So cute.
I would say that some things for us have improved in a way, but with the improvements new challenges hit and so it was a short lived kind of break lol. I figure in time it will all work out. I just try to move through it slowly but surely. I am one of those that truely believes the grass is greener on the other side of trouble, its just getting there can be a long adventure sometimes.

If I were to go on toys alone I love Bubbles, Fizzy Pop and Medley G1, I don't really collect G2. Of the G3 I especially love the Underwater Art Pony <3<3<3 , Moondancer (so sweet) and I love the Rainbow Dash 3 that I have with the rainbow color all down her leg. I TOTALLY want the Black and Blue pony, though I wouldn't say she's a favourite. G4... I tend to like the unicorns. Rarity, and Luna are faves.

I like different shapes for different custom ideas. I love doing customs. I mostly do clay right now because it's easiest for me, but I'm definitely going to start rehairing.

As for the job loss and my ex taking off, it actually worked out really well for me. I got a better job and thanks to it, I've been able to work on publishing more books. In addition I am engaged :ponylove: I met a wonderful man and he fully supports me (even loves my ponies!) and now we're looking for a house to buy. I'm finally going to have a real home :flutter2: I can't wait!

I am really hoping that everything turns around for you as well. That there's a silver lining waiting for you too :smile:

And LOL about the Wednesday reference! That was AWESOME.

Also, I'm working on a protoype for a new verions of a sea pony. I'll post it when I get a chance! I hope you like her :smile: I'm using a G4 to start and will try some of the other generations after!

I think it's pretty great how even though we've all been on hard times, that we still make time for our passions and hobbies. Sometimes, at the end of the day, it's the small things. Small victories, small gifts, small acts of kindness, and even just some friendly chatter on a forum.

I really hope things turn around for you.

What do you write? What are your web sites? I'd like to see some of your work. :) I draw a bit by computer, mostly Smurfs, but I have started a pony. I also started writing a Smurf fanfic.

My two published books are part of a series called Detective Docherty. It's about a paranormal investigator in a world where fairies, elves, werewolves, vampires, etc exist and live within society. There was an event about 10 years ago (when the books start) where people woke up and found all these magical creatures in their homes, on their lawns and in the streets. Most countries accepted them into society. The books take place in Toronto and follow a detective and his agency as they solve crimes and "misunderstandings" between human beings and magical kind :)
