Hey good lookin! Whatcha got cookin?

I love junk food night. I have those when Sharkbait stays on the sea farm overnight.

Fish'n'chips, butter chicken, kebab, pizza.......... so many choices.

Hungry now lol

Fish fillets, broccoli au gratin rice and toast with butter. Mmm!

Emperador cookies (Mexican cookies I brought from a trip to Mexico. They are good)

BBQ chips. I'm pretty sure I am eating so healthy that I will live forever. Washed 'em down with tea. Yumminess

We had omelettes for breaky and burritos and tortilla chips for lunch

Now that I'm gradificated I actually have time to make proper meals now...hooray!

I made a chocolate cake...that was a lot more work than expected. (And yes, chocolate cake is a proper meal in our house heh.)

And now I shall attempt ahi tuna steaks...no idea what to do with it, but it's an adventure!

I had to google funnel cake, We don't have it here. I want to try that it sounds fantastic (but not so good for the diet)

Here's the recipe I use to make yummy homemade funnel cakes. I stole it off the web though. It's not 'mine'.

SO YUMMY!

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for deep-fat frying
  • Confectioners' sugar
Directions
  • 1. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, water and vanilla until well blended. In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; beat into egg mixture until smooth. In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°.
  • 2. Cover the bottom of a funnel spout with your finger; ladle 1/2 cup batter into the funnel. Holding the funnel several inches above the oil, release your finger and move the funnel in a spiral motion until all the batter is released, scraping with a rubber spatula if needed.
  • 3. Fry 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners' sugar; serve warm. Yield: 8 cakes.
I use canola oil for the frying. It's lighter than vegetable oil and doesn't have as strong an 'oil' taste.

What a perfect summer time recipe

Blueberry tea and buttered toast. Sometimes the best breakfasts are the simplest
