Hey there!
I'm ladyofthenight, or Lady. You can also call me Suki if you prefer, everyone I know calls me that. I'm 27 (turning 28 in a few months), and I live in South Africa.
I've loved ponies for as long as I can remember. I used to have a ton of G1s when I was little, and I even adopted my childhood best friend's ponies when she emigrated to Britain, back in about 1997 or so. But unfortunately I lost them all during a chaotic move when I was 14... needless to say, I was devastated.
For the last few years I've toyed with the idea of collecting one or two ponies again, but until now I never took the plunge. It felt childish and embarrassing to me. As a woman slowly approaching 30, unemployed, in a committed relationship but still unmarried, and not interested in having children... it just felt silly of me to consider buying dolls. It still does. Yet I can't shake the longing. Truth is, I badly miss my childhood. I often look around on ebay and the local online classifieds... but then I get discouraged by the exorbitant prices...
Then yesterday I caved and ordered a G4.
It's being delivered tomorrow or the day after. I don't even know exactly what pony it's going to be; the order was a blind box and the site didn't even list the available options. TBH, I don't even watch FiM... But I'm so excited. XD
So yeah... I guess I'm a collector now.
:flutter:
