I just got home from hospital, I got my tonsils out FINALLY. Six years suffering through tonsil stones, got to the point where I was clearing them out three times a day and said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I am now off work for two weeks and on morphine, so I am sorry if I randomly post weird stuff in the next few days.

*crosses fingers for a full recovery and speedy healing*

That's great you got them out :) I have been thinking too to get them of since I too get tonsil stones but they are very small and no problem to me (but smelly breath sometimes -.-). But I'm too scared..
Eat lots of ice cream to prevent the troat area from swelling ;) or that is what one doctor said to one patient,I over heard it while I was in the same time in hospital for another reason. I was so jealous she got to eat ice cream and go home after just one night in hospital ( ihave to stay there for a week -.-).
I hope you a quick and smooth recovery :p

I've considered getting mine out too, those dumb tonsil stones are annoying but mine aren't as bad as yours sounded. I bet you'll have a sore throat for a little while but it'll be totally worth it to never have to deal with those again!

I'm so happy they're out and you're on the med! Like several others, I have the same problem though not to the extent of yours. I've considered having them out, but the money holds me back.

I'm just so glad you did well and are home on the mend!

:) I had them for six years and they just kept getting worse. I finally snapped and decided it was enough and got it done. It hurts a fiar bit, but morphine is helping the pain, as is ice on the throat.

I'm allowed to eat icecream and such but it's hard to swallow it so I've barely eaten anything. Fingers crossed that tomorrow when I can have pasta and mash potatoes I fair better with them. I'm starving so much right now.

Anyways....think that's about it for me and typing. I'm a bit funny feeling on the meds.

Get some rest, sweet BabyNightmare! HUGS!

Day 8 - infection set in probably two days ago. The right side of my throat was still super sore and trying to swallow anything including water and my own saliva had become almost impossible because it caused the pain to skyrocket to a 10 instantly. Sleeping was a nightmare because I move a lot and the second I hit my right side, 10 again. Finally I got mum to take me to the ER this morning. It had been seven and a half days with no solid food, only puree vegetable soups. After two and a half hours they ruled out strep throat and sent me home with antibiotics and a super pill to bring the swelling down.
Within an hour I was munching on cookies that I baked on day 7 (I got really bored and started to bake on day 6, sending those cookies to my work mates.)
Then for dinner I requested "mush" our family take on shepherd's pie. You get a plate that looks like a traditional meat, potato, veggy dinner. It has mash potatoes, seasoned ground beef and corn, then you use your fork and mash it all together before eating it. It's fun, warm and comforting and my favourite dish. Mum went to the store just to buy the ground beef and corn for me cause we were out of both. She was just thrilled that I wanted real food and felt I could eat it. I only ate half of what she cooked for me, but that's because I thought I'd better be clever with it and not eat too much with a stomach unused to food for a week. Later on I wanted more food and made a few chicken nuggets and a small handful of curly fries. I finally said "I'm going to get a good night's sleep" and went to bed. Now my insomnia is kicking in. Mum just wandered into my room on her way to the bathroom and told me to go to bed. I informed her that I had tried already multiple times. She laughed a bit and said my voice was back and she heard me giggle earlier, very softly, but she heard it from her room and it was great. So I decided to post my negative to positive day 8 update here.

Back when I had strept B during my high school graduation week, I had to live off of Ensure cause I couldn't swallow anything else x.x or talk

But man, Ensure was my savior that week lol

great that you can eat more food again! Pesky throats, puffing themselves up now and then

I will beat that infection up. It needs to leave you alone! Get better soon, baby nightmare!
