I certainly bought it in a store here, I'm in the US. It was hard to find though, I don't remember it being at TRU or Caldor like the other sets.

it was definatly sold here in the US. I got it for Christmas one year when I was little I remember opening the box and trying to take inventory of all the pieces pictured on the box, but couldnt find Brandy. Mysteriously she shows up 14 years later
