If you could go back in time...

Mimic. The Golden Horseshoes was one of my fave episodes, and I reenacted it (along with Somnambula and The Glass Princess) frequently with the ponies that I did have. I was seven when G1 production ended, and I barely recall what was available in stores. So either I wasn't vocal about wanting her, or my mom just wasn't able to find her. I just missed her at a con several years back, before her price more than doubled. Not sure why I never looked for another then, but I'm not keen to spend $200 on her now.

I wanted the mail order Rapunzel. I remember getting the advertisement for it and asking my mom for it and I was saving up my pony points for it and then they weren't selling them via mail anymore. So I missed it. I also really wanted a Paradise Estate. The baby pony I desperately wanted as a child was Baby Glory but I managed to get her when I was an adult! haha and can I tell you, it felt so gooooooooooooooooooooooood to finally have my own! LOL

Oh man, I was also saving up pony points and when I finally had enough they discontinued the point program

I had a different problem with points entirely. I had enough but my sister and I couldn't convince my parents we needed the mail order ponies when there were "good enough" ponies that we didn't have in the stores.

What?? But all they had to do was send it in for you! And you get a special pony! Sorry they wouldn’t :sleepy:

Oh that is soooo not cool of them. I'm so sorry you two delt with that! I hope you show them how much the "mail order" ponies go for on ebay now and that they are the most saught after ponies for collectors. Next time they need to listen to their children! "Out of the mouth of babes!"

My parents refused due to shipping and handling costs. We only had enough for one pony between both of us, and only the once.

I don't think they stopped and read the points program. I think they thought it was some scheme where they were going to have to keep putting money into it like a magazine subscription. I even saved all my backcards and boxes. But when I left for college my dad tossed it all. I wasn't happy. I let them know that all the stuff he tossed is worth $$$ now, which is why I had kept it. I knew it would be someday. But I'm not going to make him feel guilty about it because what's done is done. I just wish he would have said something because I would have stored them somewhere.
