I'm having a rough month.

After that all the plumbing will be pretty and new with shiny new faucets and fixtures. (I'm keeping my showerheads because I bought those myself and love them.) All the moldy waterlogged drywall will be gone and replaced with new. We'll have to prime and paint, but cosmetic stuff I don't mind. I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that they'll need to replace some subflooring as well. We'll see. Plus, my dad said that if the ants don't go away after the plumbing fix, then he'd get an exterminator.
Tak sorry to hear about your rough time.
At least your neck is getting better and your parents have gotten the place looked at. You might be able to get ant traps.

You have my empathy...

Well at least you have all the brand new fixes to look forward too then! Ants too? Your house seems determined to have every problem possible o_O
It's life, the 2020 edition.

I’m surprised monopoly isn’t already making it, they have versions for everything!
My uncle is a lawyer... he had one called “anti-monopoly“.

Geez... Someone should make you an engraved plaque reading "It never rains but it pours".
Story of my life. I’ve always been accident prone. Have you ever seen an older movie called “dumb luck” starring Martin Short? His character come be me.

The one I'm thinking of is "Pure Luck" and it's one of my all-time favorite movies! Super hilarious . (Unless you are comparing yourself to him then maybe not), but I really enjoyed that one. I've tried to find it streaming recently and couldn't. It sounds like you have had some bad luck here lately. Maybe the new year will bring new and better luck.

I was wrong, you're right. It's "pure luck". Martin Short and Danny Glover. I'm accident prone almost to the level of Martin Short's character.

For instance, I sat down to dinner one night when I was 6 or 7, and I grabbed the sides of the seat of the chair to scoot close to the table, I landed with the chair leg right on my middle toe. Clean break. (I'm hard on toes) Then there's the pins. We had a large dining room, so one wall was dedicated to sewing. My mom let us use the kitchen table for sewing, too. She used it whenever she ran out of space during the day. As a result, there were pins scattered throughout the carpet. (My mom had bad carpal tunnel syndrome and dropped pins) I always inevitably found the pins, with my feet usually. Though a few times I crawled under the table for one reason or another and found the pins with my knees. It's a good thing she never dropped needles. The pin heads kept them from going past my reach to pull out.

I never got a chance to see this reply! Wow you have had some luck for sure. My mom did the same thing! I used to sit on them because she would cross-stitch on the couch and if she got interrupted she would like the needles in the couch and forget about it. We got stuck many times. Never in my knees though, that sounds awful. By the way, I don't know if you still have ants but they despise cinnamon.....just sprinkle the cheap spice where you don't want them and they won't cross the line. I tried it in my boys room once and it worked, he still wants it in there sometimes. Hope things are looking up!!
