Not quite a "price check", but more of a "would anyone be interested"/"should I go through the trouble of getting them out, taking pics, etc" topic...

Hi, I'm Jen! I've been trying for years to declutter and I have my old My Little Ponies that I played with as a child (in the 80s, so I guess they are G1?) that need to go. I assume they're not worth much being out of box & well played with (one, for example, has a chewed foot from a friend's dog and several have had haircuts), but I am still looking for a place to sell them. I want them to go to someone who is actually interested in them, not just buying to give to their kid to mess up so they end up in the trash or at the Goodwill in a couple years.

You can absolute sell here. You're in the right place. Just about all of us here are collectors and we treasure ponies! flawed or not, we love them all.

However, you will need to provide photos and description of each pony, and the price. Where you are shipping to and from as well. If you need help pricing, we can help with that too!

I am excited to see what you have!

Welcome! As Draco said, you have definitely come to the right place.

You’d be surprised at what state some of us try to look for ponies in because we love cleaning and restoring ponies to their former glory! Yes, some of us even love ponies who have chewed up parts. In fact, some of us here can even restore those parts too! Worried about selling a pony with trimmed up hair? Someone will be willing to adopt that pony and put in new hair too!

And yes, in the box or out of the box, we’re willing to add all kinds to our collections :winkpony:

I love putting new hair in ponies, it's very cathartic! Like @StormMaeker said, many of us love to get a pony who has been very played with and give her a makeover! There is a whole section of this forum dedicated to restoration.

Ponyland Press is a good website to sleuth out which ponies you have, they have photos of all the old sets. Or if you want help identifying your ponies, it would be a very fun game for us if you just took a couple pictures of groups of them!

Yea we'd totally be interested!! :D Id love to see pics if you decide to make a sales post!

Update! OK, I've taken pictures of all of them, plus a few close-ups of marks/damage. @Lackadaisy - thanks so much for the Ponyland Press site link, it was SUPER helpful in ID'ing my ponies! However, there was one I couldn't figure out who it is, so I have attached a picture to this post, so y'all can try to ID it.

Now that I've ID'd them, here is the list of what I have:
Baby Cotton Candy
Baby Frosting
Baby Surprise
Best Wishes
Cloud Puff
Dainty
Fizzy
Little Tabby
Princess Tiffany
Tappy
Zigzag
And the unidentified one

Hi Jen! The unidentified pony looks like Lovebeam to me!

@Dragonfaerie - Looks like you're right! I searched it up and as it turns out, I also have the comb that came with her (as far as I can tell).

OK, so now how do I go about pricing them for sale? I'm willing to sell individually/small groups if people only need a couple, or if someone wants the whole lot, I'm OK with that too.

Take a look at our selling tutorial here: https://www.mlptp.net/index.php?threads/5-3-how-can-i-sell-my-ponies.115786/

If you post a thread with photos of the ponies to show their conditions, we can also help you price them. :)

Just putting my two cents in here... I totally would be interested in your Lovebeam whenever you're ready to sell. XD
@Uftaki - Hey, sorry, I'm just now seeing this! I didn't get the new post notifications. I'd be glad to hold Lovebeam for you! Full disclosure, though - she has a mark of some kind on her symbol on one side (I used the good side in the ID'ing pic above). I'll be putting all that info & all pics in my sale post, just wanted to give you a heads-up ahead of time.

OK, I have one more question before I make a sale post - can someone explain the term "bait"/"baity"? I haven't really been able to figure it out in the context of the posts, other than it seems to mean ponies that aren't in very good condition? Am I missing something else or is that pretty much it? Some of mine have marks/damage/cut hair, so not sure if I should use this term in my description? Don't want anyone to feel misled or anything!

Bait ponies are those that are tough and impossible to restore. Cut hair, marks that can’t easily be washed out, rubbed paint, chewed bits. I wouldn’t use the term bait unless it’s impossible to restore. Bait ponies are better for customisers, to give new life to

OK, gotcha, thanks! I don't think mine are in quite that bad of shape, but I'll keep it in mind.

OK, here are some pics, just the first quick batch I took. I know some are a little blurry; I can take more pics later if necessary. There are close-ups of any damage/marks. Fizzy & Best Wishes definitely had tangles cut off their tails, as they're shorter than the rest. The others may have had small trims but it's been so long I don't remember.

Baby Cotton Candy (has a little tail discoloration)
Baby Frosting (has a little tail discoloration & crusty eyes [but they still move])
Baby Surprise (is in decent condition)
Best Wishes (has a little tail discoloration, is missing some flocking & has a damaged foot)
Cloud Puff (has a mark on the neck & is missing the wings)
Dainty (is in decent condition)
Fizzy (has a few marks & the tip of the horn is damaged)
Little Tabby (is in decent condition)
Lovebeam (has a mark on the symbol on one side)
Princess Tiffany (has a mark on the nose & neck)
Tappy (is in decent condition)
Zigzag (is in decent condition)

So just to start, what do y'all think?

Baby Frosting has a home with me whenever you get a price ;) (she would come home to her about 50 sisters lol i have an army)

I see the Mod Note on my post with the pictures - thank you if you fixed something, but not sure what I did? I used the "Attach Files" button, did I miss a step or something? Just want to make sure, so I do my actual sale post correctly! Thanks!
