I found it at a flea market a while back and have been wondering ever since if it was a MLP item or not. If so, how rare is it? Thanks for any help!

what the.. ?

Butter.. Candy?! lol.

I've never seen or heard of those before, but look at the eyes, it's either real MLP or very good fan art. I think it's MLP. What country do you live in? now I'm intrigued..

yup!

*nodding* It's a bank.

I know there are some MLP ones in that mold, and that looks like one. But I'm not positive, and I think non-MLP banks might have used the same mold at some point (I'm still trying to find out). But that looks pretty real to me.

Does she have a symbol? I know some were made with symbols, but I think some weren't.

And does she have her stopper in the bottom?

i used to have a pink one. the bottom has a stamp that said some non hasbro company. they look really mlp!

I've got a Blossom one. - Do you see the spots on it's rear? Perhaps it's supposed to be a faded Cotton Candy or a variation thereof?

hmmmm.. that pony bank is in the unoffical pony collecting guide book that most ppl know about, so idk if its real or not, i am guessing it is, b/c hasbro cant make ceramics and it does look soo much like a real mlp

That's a fake. The information in the unofficial guide is misleading. That is a fakie-bank. I have one around here somewhere...>.>

lol, see what I mean about confusion??

I think that both licensed MLP banks, and non-liscensed horse banks were made with the same mold.

So, I'd take a close look at it. If it has the same colors and symbols as a hasbro pony (I'm thinking of Bowtie and Blossom here) then it's probably a licensed item. Otherwise, probably not.

But I know I saw the bowtie one somewhere in its original packaging, so some licensed ones were made.

If anyone knows anything for sure, please holler, because I haven't gotten to the bank section on my website, and I'd love real facts!

Thanks everyone for responding! All she has on her rear are white dots. She is a bank though, made out of a hard plastic.

I should have given this info in the beginning, but here is what is printed on the bottom: 1984 Small World Importing.

Perhaps she is fake? That's sad....I paid $10 for her too. :p I thought she was authentic, and so did the seller.
