Does anyone else go all out for Halloween? Well, I do. I have to wait for my husband to mow the front lawn again, but now that he's almost done, it's time to start.

Here's what I have to work with, not including addition purchases made this season!

It's almost time to start!

It only took 5 trips to our storage unit to bring it all home, and I now have to park my car outside, the garage, but...

The kids (22F and 19M) said they'd help, but we'll see...

Am I the only insane one here?

Ohhhhh! I recognize that unicorn from the pic you used to sign up for the photo hunt! I love all the little skeletons, they’re awesome!!

No, we don’t really decorate much, though we kinda did when my kids were small. I have one of those light show orbs that rotates images onto the front of my house, though.

Can’t wait to see your setup! Would love to follow along with progress pictures because whoa… FIVE TRIPS??

That's so cool! I love it when houses go all-out for Halloween.

Sadly, Halloween seems to barely be celebrated at all here in the south. (At least in the area where I live.) So not only does no one decorate, but kids don't trick-or-treat either. When I asked locals who have lived here longer about it the explanation that I get is either due to religious reasons or that it's considered an unsafe holiday for kids. So if I did choose to decorate not only would I be the only one, but I might be met with some strange looks from neighbors.

As much as I want to decorate though, it's okay that I can't. The decorations seems to be getting more and more pricey every year anyways.

I wish I could really decorate, but I rent a room and live with other people. They don’t hate Halloween, but they aren’t obsessed with it like I am either so I have Halloween decorations as regular room decor.

We hang up a string of orange lights over our front door, add a little plastic pumpkin, and set up our Musical door bell!
We also have some singing skull lights that we put in the house lol

I'm not really a fan of the evil demonic aspect of halloween either and I can totally understand where people who don't celebrate are coming from.

But I do enjoy the child friendly version of Halloween things though!
like talking pumpkin heads, candy,
Nightmare Before Christmas, and other fun little spooky things like that!

I was so excited to start. The lights are the first step.

Pathway lights - check
Power stakes - check
Extension cords - extensions cords? - extension cords???

Where are the extension cords?

Back to storage I went:

Won't be too hard to find them, right?

empty space where Halloween stuff was:

Cords weren't there. Finally found them under the table in front of where I normally park my car inside the garage, which, of course, was blocked by the Halloween boxes.

With the time left, I was at least able to start

and that's when I ran out of time to do more, as family was calling.

This is how it's looking after yesterday's additions. The sun had already gone down by the time I stopped.

I won't be able to add anything until later this afternoon. Pesky real-life things getting in the way!

Trunk or treats and fall festivals seem to be more popular in the south. Though as a kid that wasn't allowed to trick or treat for ~religious reasons~ it was nice to an approved alternative growing up.

@halicabi I'm so jealous of your unicorn skeleton! I bought a unicorn skull last year and he chills on my desk shelf lol

I love decorating the house for Halloween, but here in the UK we don't seem to care much for it. Some stores skip it entirely in favour of Christmas :(

I'm always so envious when I see how much Halloween stuff is available in the US!

I bought myself a couple decorations lol I put them out, I’ll have to get pics later

Here's where I stand after today:

I seem to be missing a box of skulls...it'll turn up!

I didn't get much added today, as I had to repair the three lighted fences.

More skulls added to "Skull Island"

I'm not sure I can do anything tomorrow, as it's supposed to rain all day! Guess I'll be reorganizing my Halloween boxes, as I'm still missing items for the two "islands".

I also have a lot of decorations for the outside. I will have to get some pictures. I love the way you group all skulls and pumpkins together! I stretched mine out along the road. I also have some blow-ups that I have had a while and I am getting tired of but can't stand not to use them. I have more decorations inside though. I will add some photos this weekend :pumpkin:

We don't usually decorate much because we're the only ones that see it given how far away the nearest house is, but we still do it a little if just for our own amusement.

Yep, too rainy today!

"Skull Island" is done (unless I find more skulls)

Finally found the missing lights for "Pumpkin Island" (could use another strand or two!)

The pumpkins and gourds that will be at the base of the tree, but that's a job for tomorrow.
