This is a long winded one. Go to the bottom for picture.

Starting a plushie thread, since I'm sewing some, and so far, I'm not doing a good job, documenting it. (You could almost say, I’m not doing it at all.) Sadly I'm also bad at making progress consistently, as I'm used to much simpler patterns, that can be machine sewn in my spare time in a few days. Unfortunately, I can’t machine sew this one, because while I can do curves sometimes in optimal curcomstances, I’m most certainly not this good. So these will have to be handsewn. Backstiched. All of them. Because I seem to hate myself, or something. Anyways, this thread is here mainly for accountability reasons, and also to maybe inspire some of you to make your own.

The pattern is by Lisa Pay (I did shorten the nose a bit, so it looks more MLP, and has less of a chance of falling over on it’s face), you can find her on youtube, she has lots of fun patterns.

None of these will be for sale, I do not take commissions, and I'm not planning to do so in the foreseeable future. The G1s will be for next year's Fundraiser Event (if I can ship them successfully). I'm also hoping to make myself some G3s, after these are finished. If I'm not sick of them, by that point.

At the moment, I have an abundance of white plush fabric, so I'm making white ponies. Obviously, I'm making a Posty. I'm not sure, if I'll have time/patience/material to make two, but we'll see. I'm also making a Glory and a Moondancer, because they are iconic. I wanted to make a Sundance and a Majesty too, but I feel like, maybe five is too ambitious. We'll see. I also wanted a Starshine, but I ragequit after drafting a wing pattern and not liking it.

My current goal is to finish and ship them off by September, or the beginning of October, so there are no hubbubs, and I have plenty of time to re-ship, if it's turned back, for any reason. International, and especially intercontinental shipping is a pain. Also, I probably won't have a lot of time for sewing after that, as I'm planning on going back to school after dropping out in 2021. I can’t support my pony and my bubble tea addictions with a retail job after all.

I started with Glory, because to be completely honest, I'm a bit intimidated by Posty's symbol. She's almost ready, but as of this moment, she’s stuck looking up, and I’m not a fan of that, so I’ll propably undo her neck.
I'm also not happy with the embroidery work. (But let's be real, when have I ever been happy with anything I've made?) Her horn and ears go on after she’s stuffed, so she doesn’t have those yet, but here’s how she looks so far.

Excuse the background. My ADHD doesn't like cleaning up after ourselves.

I’m being serious when I say this, you’re doing a great job at this plushie. Trust me, when you let this project sit for a while when completed and return with fresh eyes I’m sure you’ll be able to see it better then you are now. As someone who also takes on creative projects, I also can be harsh on myself. I think a lot of us can relate to that.

I’m looking forward to seeing your ponies complete!

The plushie is looking great! Also, I totally understand needing to support the pony and boba addictions lol.

Oh this is darling! Ahhh, too cute!:lolpony: Artists are their worst critics, haha! I totally understand how you feel. You clearly have talent in sewing, though, whoever wins these plushies will be ecstatic. I hope you have fun with the rest of the process! :Moondancer:

Wow that eye is beautiful!:ponylove: Great job! And I'm super impressed it's hand sewn! That's truly a labor of love. Everyone else who commented is right--it's too easy to find the fault in our own work--and no one else sees it.

Just wanted to post a quick update, Glory's still not finished, but Posty's embroidered.

I'll add a picture once I'm home.:Posty2:

She's not compeletely symmetrical, but if I'm gonna be honest, she still looks better than some of the official plushies I've seen Hasbro pop their licence on in my 22 years on earth. I've drawn on the letters of her symbol, but decided against embroidering it, so it's just the two chatboxes.
:Posty2:
I've also already started Moondancer, but since I'm home now, I think I'm gonna pick Glory apart and sew her back together real quick, so I can say, that I've finished one.

Glad to see her finished. You did such a good job! :Flutter4:

I'm half done with embroidering Moondancer, and instead of working on her, I'm procrastinating by making a list of G3 ponies I want to make for myself... It's getting dangerously close to 30, even thought I am well aware, that I'm going to get sick of them after like 3 or 4...

She looks so cute! Plushes are far from easy to make, and you did a fantastic job! How did you do the embroidery, if you don't mind me asking?
Welllll... I put the hoop on, drew it on with friction pens, and just winged the rest...:lolpony:
