Has anyone been to Mare Fair in Orlando? If so, how was it?

I haven't been there but as it is a convention arranged by users of uhh... a heinous site, many of the people who went there are notorious types of bronies with inside jokes from that subset of the fandom.
I know of one person who had a racist experience but I cannot remember who... And I heard other stories about unpleasant goings-on at the convention. I am sure all conventions can have their bad experiences but I'd personally be wary of it unless you are familiar with the [removed] side of the pony fandom.
