Missed my plane to Oz

Finally! My tech guy came and his trusty assistant have arrived, repaired and rode off into the sunset to repair even more! They had to rebuild the whole tower and replace everything, but I have internet! Whoooooo!

Once I can come in and get to typing, I'll post some pics! The tornado went through Ravenna, Duplex (where I live, Ivanhoe is just the nearest post office) and Elwood. Four people lost their homes completely, but no one was killed. Considering we had no warning and were under no weather watches, I think we all have to be very grateful we're still alive.

I think the most impressive about all of this were the actions of all the neighbours. After the tornado blew through, the road was blocked and though it was still pouring, people headed to the road to get it cleared because it's the only way out except the lake road (also blocked). Chainsaws and tractors roaring, everyone worked and cleared the roads, checked on elderly neighbours, or just comforted each other. Action Hank had headed up there with an axe to assist! Everyone flew into action. Friends and family arrived on the scene and finally even the county commissioner and his work crew, who were surprised that the majority of the work had already been done. When things are tough, Texans are tougher. I was and continue to be so proud of my community.

Here's what little was written up on it, we're just really little groups of farms, so we're not even really towns of anything. Our plight wasn't even news worthy I guess!

The second article is really the better one. Although their picture was pretty lame. I have way better pics! LOL! I am the Peter Parker of Duplex!

Living without the net is horrible. I could have DIED! LOL!

My neighbours/best friends next door who use our internet as well are such junkies they actually drove into town almost everyday to use it at McDonalds. I guess I'm not nearly the addict I think I am.

I sure missed you all so much!

Missed u foofoo :)

Glad you got your internet back! WOOHOOOO :) Whenever we travel, having no reliable internet is a pain. By the time we pull our camper to FL for the Winter, get parked where we stay and get broadband access set up, I'm without good, usable internet for about 2 weeks. LOL During that time I keep myself "distracted" by working on my drawing. Anyway, glad you're back. :)
