Mixing hair types (Possibe? Tips?)

Heres what im trying to do with a custom pony! I know there is some fake hair thats in the style of deadlocks, and my OC has one on his tail, and two on the front of his head that brush back behind his ears. His loose hair is tied back at the very end.
Is this possible to do??? I am specifically worried about the tail since its just one big bunch, rather then multiple holes.
Any tips or tricks???

Btw I am VERY new to customs, and have never done one before. I am looking up how to do that as well!

It really depends on what kind of hair your wanting to use. There’s lots and lots of different types out there and lots of ways to achieve different looks. As well the level of difficulty would also depend on what pony base you want to use. Some bases are easier to customize than others.

I highly suggest checking out different doll customizers on YouTube. A doll custom and a pony custom are both essentially the same as far as hair is concerned.

I would also recommend researching what kind of hair and where you’d be ordering your hair from. Here’s a list of well known and fantastic suppliers:

For that particular hair type I would suggest yarn!
Yarn can be broken down into smaller fibers and brushed out to look like hair!
