Not long after I got Posey with her tightly cuddled under one arm on the long trip home from the West Coast (NZ, South Island) I saw Cherries Jubilee the pony I wanted since that day on the back of Posey's card. That would be over 28 years ago now:CJ:

I finally got her from ebay earlier this year & she is lovely :ponylove:

I figure some of you must have Ponies you've wished for since childhood?
 
Well, I have not wished for any particular pony since childhood only that I wanted ponies and didn't get any due to being a little too old for them at the time. Thats why I have them now because, I am even older and yea it makes total sense lol. One pony I really would like to have is UK Clover. She has been on my mind for years. I don't know what it is about her, but she is just a beautiful pony that I must have at some point. Note to self: Pick up lotto ticket. Win Lotto. Buy pony! When I was a kid I did manage to sneak a SS doll into the house without my mother knowing it lol. I just didn't think a pony would make it. SS would blend in but, I didn't have any horses for the pony to blend in with. I should have just asked mom for one. I am sure now she would have gotten them for me, I guess I was worried about it. Minty year one was a favorite of mine back in the 80's. I also loved Blossom. I have them both now. Oh and since I was young, I loved Sea ponies!!!
 
Oo I've seen her once on Ebay, She is beautiful! Being of good hearty Irish decent I LOVE the clover cutie mark ;)

If I ever see her here in New Zealand I'll try to get her. Sometimes an amazing Pony shows up on Trade Me as a real bargain. Not everyone selling on Trade Me is up to speed with on G1 values, that won't last forever but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
 
My sister and I longed for Scribbles and Dabble ever since we saw them in those pony pamphlets when we were young. But we never got them as gifts. I wanted Dabble, she wanted Scribbles. A few years ago, I finally obtained Dabble from eBay. I'm still seeking a good-priced Scribbles, though.
 
My biggest one was Gypsy. I had a story book called "The Grand Pony Parade" and there was a picture of her in there dancing around with a tambourine and I fell in love with her. Being a kid in Canada made it impossible for me to ever have her as a kid though so I searched for years for her once I started collecting online. She is my absolute favorite and, though not the most expensive, still the gem of my collection. Second is the pearly babies. I remember having a pamphlet with them in it and I just loved them but couldn't convince my mom to get me any mail order ponies (I was only 4 so she probably didn't take my pony obsession too seriously at the time). I have now acquired pearly Baby Firefly, and some day I will have the rest!
 
MINT Party Cake with accesories and scent. I recently found her quite dirty at a flea market for 1 dollar and the rest of the Scented Set. I think she also has her hat! And she barely smells, but I don't care, she smells a bit. Oh, and Sunbeam, and I also got her too!

ETA: Apparently, Party Cake's smell is delicious and Sunbeam became near mint! Squee!

Nightlight - When I started collecting years and years ago, she turned up and no one knew anything about her. I love her colour and decided I wanted her.

I've gotten a Nearly every pony in that set, but still haven't gotten a Nightlight. I guess I just need a pony to want :)

Star Glow-I couldn't find her as a kid and my inner scrooge can't quite bring itself to pay 40+ bucks for her now...that and I have yet to find her BIN. Down Scroogey down!
Steamer-Don't have him yet but I will someday!
Slugger-he's awesome, which is weird because I'm neither a fan of pink or baseball
Magic Star-She's on my want list
Sunlight-One of my cousins had her and I've always loved that pony. So beautiful
The Tales Ponies-I never knew Europe got them till I saw them on the Arena! So jelly!
 
Any colorswirl ponies and fancy mermaid ponies, very recently I got one of each! :D
Also, a My Pretty Pony but I got that too :ponylove:

Galaxy & Quarterback are on my new wishlist.
I was lucky enough to get Magic Star (not the so soft version) & Slugger on Trade Me a week or two ago, it's amazing the more I look around the more Ponies I have on my wish list :)

When I first got into the pony scene, I saw a baity Baby count a lot on Ebay. He sold before I could bid on him, but I became determined to get one. After a while, he turned up again! I won him, and he turned up at my house. He's the pony in my profile picture, actually. There was also Tex, who I longed for, but at the time he was stupid expensive. Still is. But I found Tex very cheap, and he ended up as a birthday present! So, now I have the two pride and joys to my collection :D
 
Like Skycakes said my mind changes too often. When I see pony I just want it. Then I see another and I want it too.. Never ending circle ;) I try keep myself some criteria what conditions ponies have to be before buying them so I would not buy every pony I see :p
I have been looking for Night glider and Flutter ponies with wings for "long time" now, so they all in my most wanted list :) and some SS ponies etc etc
 
I'm wasn't an 80s kid, far too young for that, but collect predominantly G1s. My most wanted was, is, and forever will be German pale Speedy. :D I don't even remember why I like her anymore, but I do love her unique really pastel-y colouring, it's so pretty and unique.
 
When I was a kid, my grail ponies were Gusty, North Star, Sweet Stuff, Ribbon, Buttons and Paradise. I'm still missing Paradise and Ribbon's deflocking is taking forever.

At the moment, however, my most wanteds are Slugger, Quarterback, the evergreen Paradise, Mainsail and Lil Clipper. Nothing too hard, but nothing seems to be coming up for them. :/

I also managed to get Sugarberry a few weeks ago, which made me absurdly happy. Now both my TAF babies have their mamas.

I... I had Princess Rinse n Spit. I think she could potentially still be in a box somewhere. Her yellow teeth creeped me out as a child, lol.
