Now that we’ve been collecting in earnest for over a month now, I think it’s time to start showing off that collection in earnest as well! @batuk and I are currently living on opposite sides of the North Atlantic, so our collection is split at the moment. For now (while Batuk is sleeping peacefully :ponylove:) , please enjoy a look at our ponies currently living on my side of the world*!

*NOT PICTURED: Scoops, Daddy Apple Delight, Scrumptious (all G1), Waterfire, Starbeam, Applejack, and Rainbow Swirl (all G3), who are in varying states of repair and styling. Also my G4 shelf is a mess and Lily Blossom needs her hair taken care of still, I'm so sorry

The collection looks fantastic so far! You two got all this in within a month? Amazing! Also those are some great risers, it’s like your ponies could be watching a show. Sundance looks a little lonely somehow even though she’s next to the others. Maybe she’s reserving the seats for the ponies in styling and repair

You know it! Scoops is due to join her today, and DAD and Scrumptious will follow suit ASAP. I’m gonna try finishing them up within the next few days!

With Scrumptious’ deflocking and Scoops’ retouching finally being complete, Sundance is lonely no longer on the risers! All three could use some touching-up on their manes (though I’ve grown fond of Scoops’ unintentional Wild Child ‘do, I must confess), but I’m quite proud. They look nice together!

Your herd looks so cute together. I use risers very similar to yours and they're perfect. Can't wait to see the two collections combined one day!!

A disastrous mix-up with my pharmacy has left me, long story short, without the energy, drive, or serotonin to work on our pony collection. But the Oklahoma meet this past weekend, followed up by my significantly more assertive mother sorting things out and getting my prescriptions transferred to a new pharmacy, has finally refueled a bit of my fire! I still don’t have the energy to clean the fixer-uppers I got at the meet, but I was at least able to brush, reorganize, and display a good portion of our newest additions!

The G4s especially need their hair properly styled, and the G1 displays look like an absolute mess, but it’s progress, right? (Don’t even get me started on the G3s. I need a new shelf because I just don’t have anywhere else to put them.)

Now, everyone please wish Batuk luck, safety, and fun! She’s taking a trip to the Netherlands this weekend and will be on the hunt for Nirvanas in her free time!

It’s so nice to see the collection growing! You’ve done so well in finding all these, I wonder how big it’ll be when you two finally get to put the collections together
Thanks for sharing the ponies again :ponylove:

Good luck @batuk! Stay safe! :Flutter4:

After months of nothing but dryness and coming up empty-handed, a trip to Savers netted me a golden find at long, long last! This finally gave me the kick in the tail I needed to start cleaning and restoring the ponies I got back in April as well, as I just... haven't had the energy or motivation or anything.

AJ has some pretty severe cancer spots on her tummy and inner flank, and Blossom is covered in smooze over 80% of her body, so they're getting an intensive OxyClean soak while I'm at work! The rest received thorough scrubbing with a toothbrush and Green Apple Dawn, some polishing with magic erasers, and, for a few, acetone spot-treatments, followed by a cool bath to rinse off. They're all resting for now, clean, healthy, and ready to have their hair styled!

Ah, it feels good to be back.

Nice collection and nice finds! The kitty is adorable supervising you too
That’s Peter! He loves my ponies (and drinking out of their bath water, much to my chagrin). His sister hates them and tries to attack them, so whenever I’m doing restoration work or styling them he’s always there to stand guard.

So cool! The magnetic door is awesome
I didn’t even notice it at first! I figured it was just stationary. There wasn’t an awful lot of pony-related stuff, and almost all of it was G4 (I almost got a SUPER cute Celestia keychain but ended up getting a Miku figure instead ), so when I saw this I knew I had to have it!

Miku merch aplenty! Actually, three of our group of four got Miku figurines, all independently of one another. Men (and woman) of excellent taste! One ended up going to the booth we explicitly warned him NOT to go to, and he ended up paying $80 for a figure worth half that. Ya live and ya learn…

An autograph from the English VA of Yuuri Katsuki, Josh Grelle! I’m not a huge anime person, but I love YoI. I showed them my YoI wallet that I’ve kept in impeccable condition for the past five years and I think they found me a little weird.

And best of all…

I got to meet the man behind my entire childhood  Spent a grand total of four hours in line, but it was SO worth it.

I’m surprised you found any pony stuff at an anime con anyway so that’s a lucky find :D
And that miku pillow is so cute
Also Yuri on Ice is my friends favorite, she would be so jealous you got to meet Yuri’s voice actor haha! I’m sure he didn’t think you were weird for having the wallet :)

Found this, er, beauty during a Savers hunting spree! She got extra special attention; a hardcore scrub to get as much grime off as possible, followed by an acetone spot-cleaning, with an internal OxyClean soak left to sit overnight. Took this picture this morning before cleaning her up and filling her up with a fresh soak.

She’ll need one heck of a sunfading regime to get that outer body in tip-top shape, so wish me luck there!

I’ve got about a dozen other ponies in various states of the cleaning process. A few will need to be sunfaded for cancer spots as well, but most of them I intent to finish styling tonight! Once I do, I can’t wait to share them here!

Phew! I've been exercising after work lately, so by the time I get home, I've only got the energy to work on three or four ponies at a time. Let's start with the recipients of yesterday's spa day, all gussied up and shelf-ready today!

1663826100218.png

Firefly's looking fabulous with her big, fluffy hair and tail! I've actually had her for a while, but the one I bought had a thin tail made of fluffed-up yarn (I say fluffed-up in the literal since, not in the euphemistic sense - very fluffy and soft). A recent trip to savers landed me one VERY baity Firefly - we're talking shorn mane, symbol stripped and hanging on by a thread, just in absolutely horrible shape... except her tail, which, while extremely dry, was still full-length. So I boiled it to tame the frizz, soaked it in a mixture of hot water and fabric softener, straitened it, then swapped it out with my own Firefly's tail and put it in a loose curl to give it volume. I'd say it was a great success! Sea Swirl was already in great shape, and Cotton Candy was just dirty. They both got a bath, CC got some extra TLC, and they both got mane/taildos. Voila! Pretty ponies once more~

And tonight's ponies! I've been eager to get this Luna shelf-ready. She might just be my new favorite G4. I'm a simple woman: glitter gives me Heart Eyes Syndrome, and she's got a lot of it.

And in honor of Puzzlemint being part of tonight's crew, have this meme I made for Autism Acceptance Month back in April, a friendly reminder from your local autistic pony collector!
