I’m unsure if any exist but I have tried looking. I’m sure someone’s asked before

Has anyone ever made or seen any pony wear patterns about? Specifically, the capes like the Carnival Time outfit?

I have some material laying about and I want to try and make a little Christmas one for my ponies

I don’t see any patterns for them, though I did find this cape pattern made for plush ponys

But if you can find a pic of a pony wearing one of the carnival time capes from the back I might be able to work out a pattern for you :)

I was actually trying to get some pictures of my Peachy wearing it today! I will have to get a picture from the back tomorrow. Thanks!

When I was looking at it today, I was kind of getting an idea of how it may go anyway but I didn’t know if any existed. The cape looks good though

I've been desperately trying to find some patterns! Drafing new patterns for ponies is quite hard given all the legs, I'm only really good at people-shaped patterns

Well let me know if you want me to :)

I looked at pic edit:If u have one, make your own pattern

1.Lay the cape on a piece of paper flat.
Outline the flat part and cut out 2 piece of that fabric
2 Measure the width and length of the ruffle
Cut fabric 2x as wide and 3x as long

That will give u a pattern.

I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t managed to find time to go in my pony box to get it out. I have thought I could try scanning it and then tracing it to try to avoid damage?
Thanks for the help!

Use a pencil and be super careful or just eyeball it.
If u need more instructions let me know
I’ll come up with something tonight. Im not sure how seasoned of a sewer u are so I don’t wanna throw a bunch of mumbo jumbo at u lol

If u give me a few measurements I’ll just make u a pattern lol :rofl:sorry if I’m pushy, I’m feeling extra creative today for some reason. I’m dying to make stuff and I have to study.

It’s okay, you’re not being pushy!
I’ll try and get some measurements and a scan of it as well so you and @AzaleaArt can have a go if you like before I start getting to work on things today

I’m not too good on a sewing machine but I am better with my hands instead. I’ve never made any sewing patterns before and due to some recent events, my creative spirit has pretty much disappeared so I thought this simple cape should be something nice and simple to try to get me doing something again

I do ^_^ mostly when I make clothes it’s for people or dolls, I’ve only made a couple of costumes for ponys but making a pattern is still the same

Okay fellow creative folk, I hope this helps:

Modelled by Peachy to show how it’s worn (and because she’s my only collector’s pose pony who isn’t MPP) and a photo of the inside to show what it’s like inside too.

I hope that’s all the measurements that’s needed! It looks pretty simple, one stitch from the tail hole to the bottom to provide the shape and then ribbon and frill sewn around the bottom?
I am awful with measurements so I’m glad there was more than one tape measure in the sewing box :lolpony:

EDIT:
Did I do the black and white tape measure wrong in the scan? Should it have overlapped the pink one? If the measurements are a bit dodgy I can redo it, I’ll keep the cape out ready in case!

I had this outfit when I was little! What a blast from the past!

Oh, this will be a wonderful, simple project to do! I bet it will be great to get the creative ball rolling again. I sew and make patterns too, and would be happy to help walk you through the steps if @PastelPeachy and @AzaleaArt get tired. :D Your pics are great!
Thank you
The pattern is free to all whoever wants to try! I’m sure there could be many variations of this simple cape that could be made. My idea for me if I’m able to make one would be a red cape with a white trim for Christmas or perhaps even scale it up somehow for MPP

It was one I found on Snowflake when I found her in the charity shop! I found out it was a UK pony wear outfit, explains why we could have it

Oh that shouldn’t be too hard :D

I’m attempting to make one now and it’s kind of tricky but maybe that’s because I don’t really do these kinds of projects much, cutting fabric.

So I thought I’ll try Pony first as Pony is bigger. I went to see the original blanket for a reference and behold, on My Little Wiki…

Pony came with a pattern, how nice! A good starting point

Patterns would be so cool! :O I always have to make them from scratch since I dont own any ponywear. I dont have any patterns I could show unfortunately, bc i only make a rough sketch then adjust to the actual pattern with the fabric as I go So the sketches wouldn't be accurate at all.
