Re-hairing a Brush & Grow?

I bought this girl at a con today and I was so excited to find G1s that I didn't even notice her mane is cut! (She was in a plastic bag)

Does anyone have experience with taking the head off a brush & Grow? The mechanism does work and I don't know if I can get the head off without breaking it.

I have experience! It was TERRIBLE BUT it is also doable! My mechanism was broken and I ended up completely removing it which is why it was so awful(the glue is Stubborn!), but if you can get it off without breaking it, it’s possible!
Here’s an old guide I found about taking apart these guys and putting them back together
Also! I have a curly locks, not a braided beauty, but since they’re the same set the hair lengths are probably similar: 8 inches for the mane on mine!
