I got a flutter pony in the mail today. She is in need of some TLC :(
Someone had colored blue highlights in her hair and you can see where the poor thing has blue marker on her body from the hair touching it. I first thought it was probably permanent and I'd never be able to remove it however with a good soapy bath and some scrubbing I was able to remove the "highlights" but I can't seem to remove the marks on her body. I've tried soap and nailpolish remover and it's done nothing. Anyone have any other marker removing suggestions?

Uh oh. Not marker! I've never been successful in removing it except leaving it in sunlight and fade the marker out. Don't forget to cover the eyes and symbols though.

What color is the body? I've had good luck in getting ink off all the colors I've tried except the blue, purple, and green ponies. Those colors will be damaged by this method.

I use acne medicine with benzoyl perioxide in a tiny dab right on the spot, let the pony sit for about fifteen minutes in a sunny window, then wash off the zit remover and leave her in the window. It usually takes one or two days for most stains to come out.

I didnt know you left her in the window after the zit stuff is washed off! I've got something new to try. I've still got a Butterscotch with a green stripe down her neck. :x

She's green-ish, it's Morning Glory.

Yep, I've taken to just leaving them in the sun for a bit after washing off the zit cream. It seems like it's less prone to bleaching out the body that way.

Gingerbread, I would just try the sunlight-only method on Morning Glory. I have a Sunbeam that I tested on the hoof and everything was fine there...but when I put it on the spot, it bleached it right to white. :(

What should I do to cover her symbol? I've never tried this sun-thing. Should I cover the hair too? If so how?

Try baking foil.

I do the acne-cream in the sun too. Haven't tried to wash it off after a while though, I just let them sit in the window with the cream on for as long as it takes (sometimes just a couple of days, and sometimes weeks). Sometimes it will leave a light mark on the pony, but I figure that that's usually better than a big ugly ink mark.

I just thought I'd post here my luck with Removezit. It is the BEST STUFF EVER! It has taken permanent marker off my ponies, and currently it's fading highlighter fabulously on my "clowny" pony (I bought a princess pony at savers, and her previous owner gave her highlighter earrings, blush, shoes & a tattoo on her side). You have to be careful using it, but it works just faboo. It also says on the instructions that it removes all inks, fungus, dye transfers & more.

Do I have to leave them in the sun when I use the Removezit?

I really don't think so, it took the permanant marker off my Seabreeze within two days and I didn't have her in the sun (cuz she still has some pink in her mane, I didn't want it to get faded). However, I do have my princess pony in the window to see if that makes a difference. Her highlight make up has faded so much...I can hardly believe the difference. I figured I had nothing to lose with her though. I didn't see anywhere in the instructions that you HAD to have sunlight, but I can go home and re-read the instructions if you are interested in knowing for sure.

*edit* I found the website with info: http://www.twinpines.com/Remove-Zit-Info.html

I see it says in one part: Warming the stained area before application and keeping the doll in a warm place will help speed up the stain removing process. It doesn't say sunlight though!

OMG! I've gotta get some of that stuff, I wonder if Walmart will have it? I'm gonna give it a try. Has anyone ever tried it on the dreaded "smooze" it does mention taking off mold?
Hmmmm

Ichigo, the next time I need to try the mummy-wrap on a pony, I'll share pictures. The neighbors probably wonder why the toy horses were wrapped up like that and then left in the window for weeks on end.
