Hello everypony!
I am new to the forum here but a long-time resident of Ponyland. My sister and I grew up playing with them since they first appeared on the market, though her love for them FAR outshone mine. She kept all the childhood ponies and accessories and expanded her collection as we got older. I had no idea how much she had acquired until we cleared out her storage after her death a number of years ago; a lot of it was NOT in great shape when I boxed it up and I have no idea what most of it went through in the years since we had last seen each other.
I have decided the time has finally come to rehome most of her collection, as I have dutifully carted it around and kept it in my home in the years since she died. I am finally digging into all the loose ponies and pony goods and umm....yeah. Wow. I have my work cut out for me.
I have the MLP Preservation Project bookmarked and I am working on de-yellowing Paradise Estate right now. Most of the ponies need a good wash, hair treatments, and likely surgeries. She doesn't appear to have a full collection of anything, so I have loose accessories, clothes, shoes, etc. everywhere. The vast majority is G1, as those were her favs. I know what some of the ponies went through from our childhood, but many of them are strangers to me and I have no idea where she got them, what they may have been exposed to, or what conditions anything was kept in when she owned them.
Are there any other pony restoration resources I should be aware of? I want to send her ponies and their goods off to their new homes looking as good as they can, so they will hopefully find new forever homes with people who loved them as much as she did.
Thank you!
