So Excited! Big Lot of Ponies! *Update!*With Pictures*

A friends mom has been picking up ponies at yard sales and thrift stores for 2 years now saying they were for me but she has refused to sell them to me for a reasonable price. Today my friend called and said she just wants them all out of her house so she'll sell me the whole lot for $100!! I'm sooo excited! I saw what she had about 8 months ago and at that time she had a bag of G3's and a large box of G1's, I really can't remember everything but I remember several boys, at least one pearly baby, some SW/WW's, lots of newborn twins and tons tons more. According to my friend she still has all of the ones I saw and she's been picking them up since. :D Hubby said he'll pick them up next friday! I can't wait!

Update! She came through. Not all I was hoping for, I know a few are missing, but a pretty good haul anyway!

The highlights for me are a Super Mint Pearly Baby Moondancer, Tex, Slugger with bandana, Salty, Baby Nightcap, TAF MilkyWay, SW Lady Flutter, and Birthflower Carnation.

There are tons more than that though. I'm so darn excited! :D There are 49 G1's in Good-NM condition. A whole box of G3's which I don't really collect so those will go to the Trade/Sale pile, 5 G2's that I was hoping to get some help IDing as I don't really collect those either, and a big bag of baity G1's. On to the pics!

I love stories like that. Nice to read about the amount of luck out there. Maybe I'll stumble into some lol You must keep us updated!
 
If she was picking them up specficly for you, why would she sell them to you for a decent price?
 
I will defintely post pics when I get them in my hands. :) I've never had the greatest pony luck but lately things just seem to be going really good. Knock on wood. :wink:

To make a long story short, when she found out that some ponies were worth an ok amount of money on ebay she decided that she needed to get that amount from me. And not just for the ones actually worth something, she wanted decent amounts for each and every one of them. I pretty much said if that's the way it has to be go ahead and sell them on ebay and get whatever you can for them. The impression I got from my friend is that she never really intended to sell them there, she was just trying to get whatever she could out of me. It was so gut wrenching to have her bring loads of ponies into my house with me thinking they were all for me, try to hustle me, and see them go right back out the door. :cry:

Yeah, it was really awful. :cry: If it was anything but ponies she had you better believe I would just say forget it! But my collection is so puny and I doubt I'll ever be able to get that many good ponies at one time for a price like that again. And the ones I don't want I'll be selling here so hopefully my trouble will be worth it to more than just me. :wink:
 
Wow, that is really harsh. To buy all those ponies for probably very little at garage sales, wave them in your face then expect you to pay E-bay prices for them (which I feel are too high for ponies anyway because of bidding wars)! That's pretty rude, I could see if it was someone you didn't kow personally but a friends mom?? That just blows me away. Well, I'm glad that you get them reasonably in the end.
 
Holy what a &*^%$ thats so mean. I hate people like that. They think that ponies are worth some kind of fortune or somthing.

I have a friend who has minty condition ponies I have th rare ones she has but their condition is so nice. She has Tux n tails with his bow and pearlized Baby Blossom. I have those two but i want some of the other odd and ends. she said I have to get her a ty crane machine 0_O (like the one where you put in a dollar and try to pick the toy up) >.<

You've got Kimono there in your G3's (the purple one with yellow lantern symbols) that should fetch a nice price. And any other first-pose ponies would too, especially with their charms.

The G2's - the white one is Dainty Dove and she came with the wedding chapel playset. The two bottom green ones are different versions of Ivy, and the pink one is Sweetberry. The top green one might be Ivy, too, but I'm not sure.

pearly...can't say words... Moon...gah! Me want! lol she's the only pearly I'm missing. That's a great haul. And Kimono goes for a nice price on ebay quite often, you should definitely be able to make some good trades from the G3's there.

But your Ponies look fabulous! Congrats on that haul! :D
 
Well done! I'm glad you got them in the end. Thing people don't get is that it all takes time, effort and money paid out to use ebay without sometimes even getting a return on it.
