Hey friends!

Many of you know that my background is in film and video, and that I haven't been able to participate much in the industry due to illness. However, from time to time I still put together videos here and there when the opportunity presents itself.

I had an unusual adventure last week, and challenged myself yesterday to make it into a story....

This was so fun to watch! Your voice over is excellent, I really enjoyed it!

What a cool video! I loved your narration too! Being from overseas I've never stepped into a Walmart so this was legitimately interesting to watch. They're huge! That walk-in fridge looked pretty scary. For a moment I feared you were gonna say it still smelled like raw meat  And the banner stand looks quite good considering where it is. A very intriguing end to the video... :ghost:

Thank you, I'm trying get back into my voiceover work. This particular voice was really fun! :ghost:

Thank you! :happyhearts: And this was a regular Walmart--not even a "Super" Walmart, but they really are enormous. You can see in the background at one point that this one had a human escalator next to a cart escalator--you'd push your cart into the cart one, then step on the one for people, and both go upstairs or downstairs at the same time. So everything you saw, there was another floor of upstairs!

I hadn't really thought about how it smelled--the store honestly didn't really smell like anything other than maybe some dust and sawdust debris, even the old freezer. I have super sensitive allergies, and nothing in there had me sneezing that day.

I'm always looking for things to repurpose for the MD Pony Meet, and banner stands are VERY expensive, so at this point I plan to order a new banner for the stand and voila! A sign for any purpose! :)

Loved your voice over. I was expecting to a pony sitting on an empty shelf.
Had I thought about it ahead of time, I could easily have brought a pony prop! I really had no idea what I was walking into though. And I definitely didn't expect it to be quite so barren, but alas. ;)

You have the perfect voice for a show about unsolved crimes or paranormal mysteries in that vid.

I agree, totally sounded like it would be the voice over for one of those “worlds most haunted places” shows :D

Thank you, ladies :happyhearts: I really appreciate the encouragement, as I've been out of VO work for quite some time and have been looking at getting back into it. <3

Oh how neat! Was it open for the sale you bought the sign at I’m assuming? I was confused part of it why the abandoned Walmart had power, so I just have to ask.

It conveyed the idea of the situation more succinctly than "Jewel goes to a Walmart that is 99% empty due to the store closing, on the last available day of liquidation auction pickup times." ;) You can only fit so many words in a thumbnail and description.

And no, it was not open to the public at all--only to auction buyers and auction staff. No staff or representatives from Walmart were present, and no exchange of money was taking place, as no goods were for sale. Just 2 auction house staff members behind a portable table with a large book of auction inventory, checking buyers in and out as they retrieved the items they had bid on and paid for online.

The lights and power were on due to the auction staff's arrangement with the building's landlord so that all the remaining contents of the building could be removed safely. ;)
