So good at colour restoration

This is soul-soothing. I still can't believe that saturated blue was still under there on Sunbeam! Gorgeous work on every pony!

Thank you both! It is downright magical what salon 40 creme and UV light will do given enough time (although Sunbeam only had about 3 hours or so in direct sunlight). I have a Moondancer in my UV box right now who was green on the inside thanks to rust and some kind of mold on her tail. She has been in there a couple of weeks and is finally starting to show her true colors again!

I absolutely love sun-fading. It always amazes me the power of the sun! (Or in my case, a light box)
Yes, I greatly prefer the sun. It goes so much faster! But it being autumn going into winter now, I have had to switch to using a box. Which is fine but slower and I can't do as many ponies at once. I have a few ponies waiting in line for their turn in the box lol

Hot water, cut up straws, paper towels, and various clips lolView attachment 61918
Ohh!! I see!! I use straws too but yours are smaller, that explains the difference in size! Hmm i never considered clothes pins, I may have to try them! I use bobby pins and slide part of it inside the straw

Clothes pins have that little hole in them that fits over top of the straws pretty nicely. They were working great until I ran out and had to improvise haha. But with lots of tight curls like this, it looks fine if a few are a little messy.

I wanted to show off how my custom Rarity is doing. I made her at the request of my daughter, who is 4. It is always my intention to make my ponies play safe, so I love seeing how well she is holding up with regular playtime.

First, here is the transformation with the bait pony used and the finished custom:

And here she is today (several weeks later):

Thank you! Is it self-absorbed to admit that sometimes I just like to look at these myself lol? I just find it so satisfying, that's why I love restoring them.
I don't think so! I love organizing and cleaning my ponies (and other collectible toys)--nothing wrong with admiring your hard work! It's nice to have vintage toys looking beautiful again. :)
