This has been the crap year for me. Right up there with 1995, the year my husband Steve died. This year, my mom passed away. First day of the year.
What a great start! And it just keeps going.
I lost my friends Ken and Mike to cancer. I lost my little filly Sweet baby Gumdrop. We got hit by a tornado and Silverheels the goat was killed. Our brand new 2015 Chrysler200S was a lemon. We fight for months to get a replacement and when we do IT has to have a new transmission. I had to replace both the bedroom and bathroom (and some wall) because of water damage. A/C goes out. Augh.
What else could you possibly DO to me, 2015? You malicious, cruel year?
Oh yeah. I know. Let's take down some MORE of my animals! We've lost several dogs at the sanctuary this year. That's normal, but a few days ago we lost Ms Sheena and she wasn't that old. And she wasn't the only one I felt should have lived, but I'll let it drop. But why, 2015? Why? And the neighbour's dogs keep killing my cats. So yeah, hurrah.
But tonight, or this morning, whatever was the final straw. I leave my aunts house at 2am after visiting with her and there on the road is Misty, one of my black ponies. Breakout. No problem, I'll just get her back in. But while examining the fence to see HOW Misty got out, I notice my stallion Buddy is AWOL. No problem, right? He's just wandering around as he does. But NO. NO. I find him while checking the fence. He got under the barbed wire somehow and has killed himself in the struggle to escape. I never heard him, never saw anything to think anything was amiss. My Buddy was only 10. He was young for a pony. He fathered my lovely foals. And now he is dead.
So typical for this year.
So go away, 2015. I am so over you. As far as I am concerned, it's 2014 again. It'll stay 2014 till January and then I'll try out 2016, but no more 2015. We're over.
Pack up your crap and get out.
