What is something seemingly random that is very special to you?

For me it’s this sooty puppet! I’m so happy to have him! Sooty is probably the only thing i actually remember semi clearly from my childhood so it’s very special and it means a lot to me to have my very own sooty puppet! I believe this is the 1960s or 1979s version made by chad valley, I also have a sue puppet but she has a different dress to the regular one and I can’t find much on her, I just need sweep and little cousin scampi!

I remember watching the episodes ‘a very special day’ and ‘3 men in a boat’ though since I’ve been watching a lot of sooty recently some other episodes did seem familiar, I have no clue at what age I watched it but I assume since it’s all fuzzy it’s got to be probably at least before the age of 10 but under 7 years would probably make more sense

If anyone else has something really special to them I’d love to see! It’s really nice sharing special things!

Awwwwwwwww @March Meadow your baby kitten is so cute omg! :ponylove:

And @P1nk13p13 that Sooty puppet is adorable! <3

I'm not sure if this counts for a random object per se--it's not from my childhood--but I would have to say my current iPod nano (8th/9th gen). The screen is cracked and the earbuds die a lot lol but I love having music to listen to while I travel and shop, in a way it's like a security blanket. <3

My Blakey I have had sense I was 4 my great grandparent gave it to me and it means the world to me.

I have a ton of random toys, so I'll share a few. Starting with my lovies, Meow Meow and Woofie!

This is a rare Italian Princess Bijou plush that was sent to me by a friend who lives in Italy! There's a Prince Hamtaro plush to match her, but he seems to be far less obscure for some reason. This Bijou kinda reminds me of Princess Peach.

These incredibly wonky vintage Pokémon finger puppets from Japan that I've grown quite attached to. There's a Squirtle and a Mew that go to this set as well, but I don't have them yet. I like how they made Ash shorter than Jessie and James, it's a cute detail. They all have such silly little faces. I like to pair them with pony accessories sometimes. I originally got Jessie, James, and Charmander quite cheaply in a lot, while Ash, Pikachu, and Meowth were purchased separately.

Finally, my beloved Schnuffel plush collection. These were only sold in Germany and a few other countries in Europe, so importing them to the USA wasn't cheap. It's also difficult to find them for sale that'll ship here to begin with. Schnuffel is my second special interest after My Little Pony, and I'm actually a somewhat well known archivist within the niche community.

Rover, the dog, was made by my Great Aunt Claudine. She made a cat or dog for all of my cousins as they were born but he has been my special buddy since day 1. He used to be green & white, his collar was yellow, and his now grey ears were white with an animal print. He has been with me for 40 years! You can see where layers of repair have been to him over time.
The doll is Sally, my mom made her for me and she was instantly Rover's BFF! Her dress was once mint green with pastel tulips.
They're both desperately in need of cleaning hut I'm too afraid of damaging them!
Tiger is Ty plush that I fell in love with and bought with my own money when I was a kid. He's the one I snuggle whenever I'm sad

And then there are the plastic zoo animals, there are more but the two pictured were my favorites. We got one whenever we went to a zoo (which was a lot!) and they were the #1 thing that my brother & I played with together!

I've said it before and I'll say it again- cereal boxes haha!!!! I love bright colours and sweets and moving to university has been so rewarding but also so hard haha- we don't have a lot of the cereal I grew up with at school (not in regular grocery stores anyways- only in expensive candy stores lol!) and I was getting sick of the plain, depressing white walls in my room. Back home I've got bright colours painted over my walls, so it's strange to say, but just the colour white really threw me a curveball in my first year to be honest  I was using cereal boxes to store papers in because I thought it was more fun than folders, but then I had to move again and couldn't pack up the whole boxes. Friends already knew I loved cereal at that point, so they gave me sugary cereal as gifts for birthdays and I was too sad to throw out the boxes they'd given me, so I just cut the fronts off to keep the art. In my new place, I built a collage out of the boxes I'd collected and I'm still collecting! I know it's a very silly thing to become so attached to, but having that colour and slice of home smack dab in the middle of my wall means so much to me (and my friends love it too! they say it's very me )

Enjoying the holidays at home right now, so I'm chopping up some boxes to take back with me (to the horror of my family HAHA), therefore I get to show off the newest addition to my collection right in front of the colourful wall it will be mimicking when I depart again! :ponylove:

That’s such a fun idea! Plain walls drive me absolutely insane so I cover them with pretty much anything I feel like :lolpony:

That doesn't sound silly to me at all, I think It is very creative!! (Reusing the boxes as folders is a great idea!) Not necessarily cereal boxes, but I do something similar with any packaging I think is cute/sentimental in some way. I cut them up and put It in my journal (junk journaling)! This is a very good way to re-use packaging!! Sounds very fun!! :lolpony:

I was the first child, and when my first little brother was born I was already 9. My great grandmother brought flowers to the hospital for my mom and me, (cause I was a new big sister <3 ) and my flowers were in this sweet dragon planter. I have always thought it was cute and kept it all these years, 34 years to be precise! I think it's adorable and every time I see it I remember my sweet, thoughtful Grannie and the excitement of becoming a big sis, while still feeling special :happyhearts: it sits on a shelf now with my Barbies in the pony room.

I also have her cast iron frying pan which I cherish and still use. I was lucky to have many of my great grandparents well into my 30's and I still have 1 set of grandparents left but I am the weirdo who asks for the dishes . Everyone else can fight over jewelry and valuables, I'm coming home with the platter we used onThanksgiving, or the vintage Pyrex or Tupperware LOL I'm sentimental in that way with practical items, things I can still pull out and use and think of them and days-gone-by. When we cleaned out my Dad's parents house I asked for the big mirror from their dining room, cause I remember all the holidays we would be gathered over there eating at their table and spending time together and I think of all the good times that were reflected in that mirror and wanted to bring it to my home, where it's in my dining room continuing to reflect good times and holidays with family.
