I saw this Posey listed on eBay, but based on a look at MyLittleWiki this one hasn't been documented. Any idea what country she was made?

I was just researching this same pony after seeing the listing :rofl:

I think I am going with Ms. Twilight on this one too. Certainly looks like Sherbert’s head and I knew those were faded symbols too. Her feet have the Hong Kong stamp, that raised my first warning flags.
She’s Frankensteined together & the seller is making a pretty good profit it seems.
 
Is there anything wrote in the listing or more pictures?
 
there are more pictures but it's a live auction listing so the link can't be posted. the description only says she "looks like Posey" but the seller doesn't know what pony she is and she "looks discolored" and those are the only things of note.

i'm also..not sure if that's sherbet's head? the colors are all correct, but the sundae best ponies used slightly resculpted old poses didn't they? it just looks off to me.

It's not helpful or relevant, but..... is it just me or does this pony look creepy? Somehow those white flowers on that darker body.... Maybe I'm just too short on sleep (I'm probably too short on sleep, I am very short of sleep), but it looks kinda haunted and ghostly.

I might be kinda here for that.

I think that mismatched body doesn’t help but yes, I am inclined to agree with you - she is kind of haunting.
 
She just looks all Sherbert with Posey’s symbol. What is going on?! I want to follow this mystery. Previous-owner-before-thrift store-donation, please come forward!

At this point I’d want her opened up for a look inside for any clues
 
Forgive my lousy picture, I figured I’d pull out my posey and sherbet to compare to the pony in the listing
The thing with the white flowers is that the pink paint that’s used with Posey can fade to a lighter color like white, I’ve seen it before. Similarly I’ve also seen discolored heads on ponies due to how they’re stored.
Sherbet’s cutiemark is 3d so it’s def not her body, maybe the head is. It’s just sherbet’s colors. To me though, it doesn’t look like Sherbet’s head (I know it’s the same pose but the eyes look more Posey to me!)
Don’t know if thats a legit pony or some frankenpony creation somebody’s made but it’s interesting!

i couldn't put my finger on what was different before but with the side by side picture it looks like sherbet's snout is a bit elongated and her eye is smaller. i really don't think it's sherbet's head on this oddball.

have there been any cases of ponies like this in the past ie. weird one off ponies from HK that were legit?
 
I really hope someone on the mlptp forums wins the bid so we can get a closer look, it’s really intriguing to me. I can believe it’s a dyed pony with different hair but the pink leaves on the cutiemark are perplexing to me and makes me wanna see closer looks!

I think you’re right, also it seems Sherbert’s eyes are just barely slanted more forward towards her snout…. hmm…the plot thickens.
Previous comments said that it would be Posey’s body, faded, then dyed purple & changed the hue of the symbols - then Sherbert’s head (& obviously her tail as well).
Now I’m not so sold on that theory though.
To my knowledge I don’t remember a lot of prototypes that were released here (or have Hong Kong stamped feet) but, I mean we do have Lavender Woosie so, you never know?

Anyone that customizes ponies might be able to see things I don’t - I’ve only restored and rehaired, never dyed:

Her head has been removed but, many have so, it’s not necessarily evidence of a switch, just worth noting:

I have never dyed ponies but the cutie marks look too flat to be painted to me. Also the scratches on the white flowers sells it to me as original

I couldn’t find this listing myself to get a look so thank you for posting more
 
i've had ponies where the notch didn't match up perfectly and their heads were firmly on, so i don't think the notch is 100% reliable to tell if it's been taken off or not.

i was thinking about that staining and maybe it's from tail rust? there's like that pink line, but then all the way around the tail is this brownish stain. i can't tell if there's rust in the hair itself though, it's hard to make out.
