What video games are you playing?

@applejackwondering the Cherry Blossom update is FANTASTIC. And thank you. I should maybe get a few pics lol. I love building in creative mode.
I used the cherry blossom items to create a themed cabin area call the Cherry Blossoms, they are the campers who are flower lovers/ botanists.
Also made the Sunbeams, who are the early risers and kinda basic camp themed, but lights out by 9pm.
The Honeybeez are the bee keepers and run the bee museum. Lots of flowers, gardens and bee hives.
The Gemstones have a cave and I use A LOT of amethyst (my other total favorite) for their theme, they are the rock hounds/geologist.
And I have the Oak Leaves, who are the wild ones and like to rough it in the wild lol. Their camp is in an Oak grove and they camp out under the trees, no cabins.
Plan to make the Moonbeams too, they are the night owls and astronomy nerds.
I also built the mess hall/kitchen and general dining area. Planning on like a office, archeology club, arts&crafts, snack shack, horse ranch, farm, mini zoo, discovery center and a giant outdoor chess game.

Sounds like you guys make really fancy nature based stuff in Minecraft, and last time I played it I did the opposite when I built a massive thirty story office building, and I was only able to do that because it was partly embedded in the ground. Never did manage to finish the thing mostly because I was using a bunch of mods and it took forever to set up the cables that made it to where every floor had it's own lights that could be turned off.

I had been playing Cult of the Lamb. I'm on the last boss level, but it trying to qrap up getting all the side items.

I've been playing so much Minecraft too! I just got mods installed on my computer (really, a huge mod pack for a server created by a friend of my boyfriend's) which definitely makes the game more interesting as I've been playing it on and off for 12 years. I've come back to my annual summer Minecraft binge and we accidentally stumbled on the Deep Dark without knowing much about the update, which was TERRIFYING!

Chie is my girlfriend now!

Have you ever tried the DS game Style Savvy? It's so much fun!
I always wanted it but never got my hands on a copy!
I have played the 3ds demo version and absolutely loved it!
I've always been into fashion games!
Heck I've been playing the mobile game Love Nikki daily for almost 6 years now!

My younger brother bought me a gaming laptop towards the beginning of the year because we play Diablo3 together and my old one wasn’t going to handle D4 when it came out in June and he really wanted me to play. Then it turns out that HIS graphics card can’t handle D4 so HE can’t play until he upgrades his PC. But he also recently acquired an IRL girlfriend and wouldn’t be playing even if he could. However, I just found out that my SIL and BIL play so I’ll have to get together with them soon.

Also, my teenage son wants to find a game we can play together but I can really only handle top-down dungeon crawls due to motion sickness and he doesn’t care for Diablo. Any suggestions?

I'm more of a console gamer so I'm not particularly well versed in what games are available on PC or Steam, that said is there a particular genre of games that your son does like?
Mabey an art style that suits his tastes?
Are there other types of games you can play the don't induce motion sickness?
Such as 2d platformers, or top down shooters?

I want this game so bad!!! <3
When I was little I wanted to grow up to be a fashion desiner
That looks fun!
I also wanted to be a fashion designer when I was younger and all through highschool :) (now I’d rather be a costume designer) and played all kinds of fashion games my favorites were

Did you ever end up doing any actual fashion designing?

I had that one too!
how I got into sewing and fashion!
I became obsessed with learning how to sew at the age of 9 when I found a needle and a spool of thread!
My first project was repairing my sister's Barbie Princess and the Pauper singing Erika's dolls dress which had popped a seam in the bodice.
How I repaired it was I went around and around in a loop between the two broken seams creating an almost darning affect on the front with the dress on the doll to repair it.
it was a mess but it worked! I think I still have it somewhere!
the next thing I did was try to make my own Erica dress using an old t-shirt and a different Barbie dress, I'm pretty sure I still have that dress as well as the sketch I drew up for my design.
then I made Barbie bags using cardboard scotch tape and t-shirt fabric!
after that, I got a sewing machine for my 12th birthday a (real pos) Walmart brother and I sewed Barbie clothing on that till my needle broke!
I didn't know how to replace a sewing machine needle so I stopped using the machine and went back to hand sewing we're in I made an entire fashion line for my sister's teacup piggies!
download.jpeg

how I made the dresses was I cut out a rectangle rolled the Hem sewed it by hand, rolled the top hem and created a elastic Channel threaded in elastic through, and close the ends creating a skirt Loop!
then I made them cute little matching rectangle bows where you wrap the string around the middle of a rectangle to make a bow it had an elastic loop sewn to the back to make it attach to the pigs ear!
I also made teacup piggy jackets my little sister was very spoiled with lots of handmade outfits for her toys!
then when I turned 19 I got my current Brother sewing machine for Christmas! The brother se425 and it sews like a dream!
much better than what I started with!
I mostly use it for repairing things though as I have a hard time sourcing large quantities of fabric I've never had much money so I've gotten creative using old clothes to create things on my sewing machine!

The fashion games I loved to play were imagine fashion designer New York, my fashion studio, and barbie fashion all on ds!

The story and music in this game are fire!

I loved the story mode in this game too!
I loved the little moth bad guys!

Fun fact this is a port of a PC game!

For PC I played Zoey's Design Academy until the sever for it shut down
The only mini-game that worked was the bee "run and jump" game which was the only way to make money lol

And for fiscal stuff I got a fashion angels design portfolio stencils book for Easter when I was 14, I still have it today!

I could give you the names of a bunch of them but I'm not sure if the thought of ASCII graphics and turn based play are things you guys are interested it.

For genre he prefers magic/fantasy where you can choose the class of character and have skill development. We really enjoyed Tomb Raider Guardian of Light, though. So some puzzle solving.

Not much preference on art style as far as I know. 2D or top down shooters are fine for me.

I don’t know that I’ve had much experience with ASCII graphics, but I’m not a fan of turn based play. Please suggest a few and we’ll look into them!

Was searching around and got recommended this video by YouTube!
Looks like there are some medieval fantasy style games with diablo 4s gameplay!

Aww that’s so cute that you were so determined ^_^ did you teach yourself or did someone help?
And if you ever come across them I’d love to see those dresses. Too bad about the needle breaking but the pig clothes sound adorable, your sister was lucky!
I learned to sew when I was around 11 cause I wanted to make some matching teddies as a gift, so I got my mom to teach me to hand sew (she’d been repairing our plush and clothes for as long as I can remember so I knew she could show me :)) wish I’d taken a pic of them before giving them they weren’t made the best haha but they came out cute. I made doll clothes and little plush all the time after that. This isn’t one of the original teddy bears, they were bigger but it is the oldest thing I have that I sewed :) I was probably 12 ish. He’s fraying on the seams and you can see the knot from my very dark thread on the side of his head lol

Then a few years later we got a sewing machine for Christmas though I’m not sure why since nobody but my mom and me really sewed and she has never used it, so I claimed it as mine and taught myself to use it :D it’s the same one I use now actually(his name is Bobby)
Have you tried looking at thrift stores for sheets and curtains? They’re a pretty big piece of fabric and the store near me sells them for 1-3 dollars which is pretty good I think :) I’ve used a sheet to make a shirt, a big velvet curtain to make a skirt and some of the sheets to make little toys for my cats too.
I used to play the fashion games on Barbie.com lol I had no idea there was a ds game. And oh wow I forgot about those fashion angels books! I used to look at them at kmart all the time, never had any though

I needed to be taught how to thread the hand-sewing needle,
And there was a DVD that came with my first swing machine that taught you how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin that's it!

Everything else I Learned was completely self taught.
I didn't have access to youtube or the internet till I was 18 and my mom didn't know how to sew so I kind of made it up as I went using my clothing as a reference point for how things were put together!

I personally don't mind going off-topic, Tak and I do it all the time!
although when things get too out of hand I usually start a new thread, or pm the person I'm talking too!

The two I play the most are Dwarf Fortress and Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, the first is a fantasy game about running a dwarven fortress and the second is a modern day zombie apocalypse, if it helps any they are both free and have tile sets that give them graphics.
