TimTams are Australian cookies with two layers of malted biscuit and a layer of chocolate cream between them, wrapped in textured chocolate. They're famously best eaten by biting off each end, then putting one end in a hot drink (typically coffee), and sucking it through the biscuit like a straw. The inside goes soft and the outside starts to melt. You can eat Twix the same way.
Imported, they're very expensive, so they're like a guilty pleasure cookie for me. I first got to try them when my sister in Australia sent me a packet of them. In the USA they're apparently sold by Pepperidge Farm at Target. You get them in packets and in tins, and apparently there are different flavours.
Bwahaha! You made me LOL for real. Curses upon that Poppins woman!
And I do eat sugar, at the Asian market they sell cheap bags of Chinese rock candy and it's just crystalised hunks of sugar. It is so yummy, chomping big sugar chunks. If I don't have it, sometimes I just eat a spoonful of sugar. It's tastyy.
Guess no one will be surprised when I get the diabetes.
I've never seen them anywhere at our Target but that does sound mighty good lady if I ever find i'll def hafta try em someday maybe you can come here and you, me and foofoo can hang out and munch some?
I can suggest some Asian treats that are also very good. Like Green Tea or Strawberry ice cream Mochi
Ube Macapuno that's purple yam cake covered with merengue
leechy nuts, a delicious fruit in its own sweet and light juice
and boba which is like a smoothie/slushy mix with jello balls on the bottom
definite perks to being part Asian is being privy to some very yummy food, the other food perk is being privy to foods you can horrify your friends with (even if you'll never touch it yourself) bwahaha!
We would have so much fun they'd have to call the cops! YAYS! Police records are magical.
I love lychee! Yum yum yum. It's so much better 'fresh' than canned, but I take what i can get. Every now and then the market will have some they picked before they were ripe so they wouldn't be mush when they got here, but oh... to go to Japan and get one pikced that day. Mmmm. And then to run to the doujinshi shop! Squeee!
I like to buy the packaged douhua too, that Chinese custard. It's similar to flan, but so creamy. Augh. I gotta stop talking food!
Heheh, I would never buy a bag of dried squid snacks to torment my family. Never!
