Which ponies are prone to plastic degradation?

I am interested in the idea of a porcelain BJD. I love Porcelain work if done properly. Those would have a chance unless your son's little friend Frederick comes over and shoots it in the head with a BB gun. Baaaa

I am not sure if its a plastic.degradation, but some of my sweet heart sister ponies are like soft and rubbery compared to others.

I went through some more of my collection and I noticed a few more that were degrading: Brandy the dog and some of my beddy-bye eye ponies. Also ponies that are white seem to be more prone to degradation, at least in my collection...

Sounds like it could be plastic degradation  but I am not sure...? rubbery, like sticky?

I found this thread looking for any way to save my Brandy the Dog from the G1 Show Stable - also the cat (Twinkles?) from the Pretty Parlor. Both are just greasy and if you pick them up you'll leave a fingerprint in the paint. Is there anything that can be done? There was some chemical on the market for dolls that would at least temporarily stop the process, but the item would need to be rehaired/repainted. I'll try it! But I'm a crappy painter. Is anyone in that business??? It's the Brandy from my childhood - I'm pretty desperate!

In my experience... if you got an Mexican alt. color (white body with purple hair) Sundae Best pony that is not gooey, you'll have an amazing thing in your collection.

Sadly Mexicans seem to be prone to plastic degradation, specially the ones with white/cream body color (Newborn Babies Rattles and Tattles), the alt. Sundae Best, the pink Perfume Puff pony, and the princes (and my Mexican Brady the Dog). Amazingly (in my experience) both Moondancer and baby Moondancer doesn't suffer this condition, Starshine is a weird case, she mostly suffers from missing symbol but not gooey body.
