2016 Texas Pony Meet Up!

About: This will be a multi-generational, family friendly pony meet up, focusing on the older gens (G1-G3) for Texan collectors - this is not a Brony event. Feel free to bring ponies/accessories/playsets for sale or trade and even some of your favorite G1 - G3 ponies for Show and Tell! Please note: We will not turn away non Texas folks who are in town that weekend and would like to attend! UPDATE: My mom is graciously helping with lunch refreshments. Dinner as well as buying & trading are Dutch/on your own.

For participants: We should have enough G3 prizes and would appreciate more of G1 and G2 prizes. If you plan to help with FOOD/REFRESHMENTS, DECORATIONS or general SET UP, please plan to arrive at around 9 a.m. Saturday. While there is no cost to attend, donations are welcome! ALL donations will go to paying my mom back for lunch and extra items she has/will graciously bought/buy for this.

I ask all participants to please refrain from wearing any kind of perfume / cologne that day/evening as your hostess is chemically sensitive. If you must wear it, I ask that you do not sign up. Thanks for your understanding in advance!

If you would like a list of things to do in the area, I can provide suggestions! Please PM if you would like to sign up! You are welcome to bring a guest and/or food/treats for everyone, just let me know so we have a good count/enough.

Tentative Schedule:
9 am Arrive/set up - Optional - only if you brought goodies/food, BST & Raffle items
10 am - noon Welcome, Buy/Sell/Trade! Don't forget to get your $1 & $5 raffle tickets and guess how many peppermints are in the jar! All proceeds goes toward paying my mom back!
Noon Lunch Time!
1:30 pm Door prizes / Jar Contest winner announced & presented with mystery gift bag of pony goodness!
2 - 3 pm Show and Tell - First ponies, rare ponies, customs, etc.
3 - 4 pm Raffle drawings ($5 and $1 / ticket)
4:30 ish Wrap Up / Remaining Door Prizes / Farewell.
5 pm Clean Up
6:30 pm Dinner - Optional/Dutch. Restaurant info already given out to those who signed up.

*BST is optional and ongoing between buyers/sellers/traders -- please make fair arrangements and deals!*

AW! So jelly, this is 2 days before my birthday. Kinda want to make a trip for this, why not?? Never actually visited TX. Is this area good for someone visiting?

Yes, there is a lot of things to see and do...not a whole lot, like say, Dallas, but it's nice! I can send you some info / recommendations.?

Oh I'm soooo jelly too ....... but you have waaayyy more chance of getting there than I do lol

It sounds like so much fun & it would be so cool to meet everyone :(
 
Its so nice of you to do this. Due to health problems and other issues it is impossible for me to plan that far ahead and say i can go by a deadline. So, for me its out. Its far enough away i am not even sure i could handle the drive. I don't even know until the last minute if my R2 will even have that time off and there is no chance on pre-planning since a key employee quit. So, you guys have fun. Its sounds like a dream of fun to me. Maybe one day i will get to attend one.
 
i am no longer in texas. i dont even know where tyler is or how close it is to where i lived. also wouldnt have a way to get there since i dont drive.
 
Tyler is actually along the more Eastern side of Texas. So, if you are facing the map its to the right of Dallas but 1.5 hours from Dallas. If you kept driving from Tyler to Louisiana, you would reach Shreveport, Louisiana probably in one hour and a half too. So its smack dab in the middle of Dallas and Shreveport, Louisiana. I use to go up there when I was young to ride horses at a camp there. If I was going to drive there I would go through: Conroe, Huntsville, Crockett and so on. It would take just under 4 hours. @babyblueducky

ok. i looked it up and saw it was near dallas, which is where i was. still wouldnt have had a way to get there. i doubt the train went that far.
 
After some schedule checking and shuffling Action Hank and I will be able to attend! Huzzah! I'll get you a PM, Sweet Stuff.

I can't wait to meet some fellow pony peoples!

There's a possibility it might work, but I haven't investigated the train schedules and what not. There is a Greyhound station in downtown, if that helps,..but I'm not sure of pricing or anything like that. There are also two AMTRACK (sp? lol) stations in nearby cities..
 
Hi there y'all! We have another participant who is also sensitive to scents - particularly cigarette smoke - due to asthma. So if you are a smoker or have a guest who smokes, please keep this in mind...Please feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding this or anything else.! Thanks for understanding!

Hey ponies! We've got a good group of folks so far . . . I will soon finalize the location and get some details / schedule, etc. in place. :D I'm getting super excited, but a little nervous, I want to be a good hostess! :)
 
Oh no! I'm sad to miss this opportunity! I'm just going to pass by Dallas in May, not June :( Hope you guys have fun!
