Any pony memories from when you were younger?

I love this thread,it's so much fun to read about where it all really began for each of us!

I was born in 89 so I missed most of the G1 craze, however,it was a solid Fact that Every time we went to the thrift store there would be a bag with at least 2 ponies in it. My mam always bought them for me and so I began hunting and collecting as a toddler basically! I had probly about 70 as a child and like I said, the number slowly grew each week as we went to Value Village to hunt.

Ponies,Barbies,Playmobil and LPS were my fave toys to play with. I used to carry great bundles about by their tails as well!

I pretty much played the same game or some variation every time and it never got boring. I had several Troll dolls and they were the villains who would capture the ponies. I had a big troll who had a cloth body which had a velcro opening,I'm guessing she came with candy in her stomach originally. She was the evil queen and the other trolls would capture baby ponies for her to 'eat'. I'd cram the poor babies into her stomach! I also had the Strawberry Shortcake carriage which I'd use in a plot similar to 'Firefly's Adventure' in which the trolls would capture ponies to pull the queen's evil chariot! Essentially the trolls were forever capturing them or I'd have an imaginary bad guy.

I took mine in the bath all the time! So much fun! They'd have to cross the dangerous slippery edges of the tub and inevitably certain ones fell in and had to be rescued or the sea ponies would save them. Surprisingly, none of them seem to have suffered for it.

I Loved the Sweetheart Sister ponies best,So gorgeous! For the longest time Sundazzle pony Sunbeam was my only one and one of the only ponies bought brand new. I adored her so much and once took her to the fair with me. I took another SHS out with me one day and she sat on the table while we ate at a Chinese place. I very nearly left her behind! Yikes!

I think my 4th and 5th BDays were MLP-themed. My Mam made a beautiful cake with flutter Rosedust on the top and a rainbow arch over her,I have pics somewhere. I still have a few napkins and plates.

Oh,I remember another thing! The flutter ponies were like tweenage baby ponies and I had specific families which stayed together and babies were assigned to ponies whose colors and symbols were most alike. So Posey's daughter was Rosedust, etc.

When I was about six I found My Little Pony. I went to my good friends house and she had about 60 of these little pony toys. I fell in love at first sight. I wanted one so badly. My father brought me one after I had played with hers. I was so happy to have one. Then one turned to about six. Slowly I got out of my little pony till generation 3.5 started. Then now I am 15 years old and this Christmas will be one year of me collections My Little Pony. I love collecting them now even more then I did when I first started playing with them. I enjoy finding the old ponies that I used to have when I go out looking for older ponies. It's like a little flash back of when I got it for the first time.

I enjoy reading this thread, hearing what tales your ponies have been up to, how you carried them, the same way I did, I used to call my bundles of ponies for bouquets of colour, I had around 15 in each hand when walking over to my friend.
We played everyday with my ponies, and I remember the games well ^^

Brilliant Bloom was the queen of the herd, and Swinger, MO Twinkler, Baby Sapphire and Love in a Mist were her children, Sparkler was the dad and the only unicorn I had at the time. I had no flutter's or sea ponies, though I wish I had, but I had a few wingers and some petite ponies.

Tassels was Swinger's wife and they had 2 children together, Pony Pride and Buzzer, and Tassels ran a bakery with Surprise, and so and so on.

The adventures would take place in my room, out in the sandbox in the woods near a stream or in the meadow, and I had them with me everywhere, even family-parties, baby Nightsong was my favourite, have a picture of 6 year old me sitting on a staircase in fancy outfit talking and playing with her.

I wish I could go back in time to show my younger self all my ponies and play with them, it was fun and good times, I am sure me and my friend would have fainted

Its wonderful reading all of the stories and seeing how little ponies have made an influence people's memories ^-^

My pony memories was of my precious Sweet Pop. When I was very young I remember taking her in the tub and having her fly through the bubbles. I'd brush and shampoo her hair and admire her twinkling eyes. I'd take her in the garden and braid flowers into her hair and we would watch the clouds together. I also had a few Darlin' Dino toys which I pretended where dragons. Sweet Pop lived in a big lego castle and was protected by all of Darlin' 'Dragon' minions.

Sadly my Sweet Pop is long gone. I started to collect ponies in memory of her in 2003 and here I am today :smilepony:
