Best thing you've found at second hand store or garage sale?

I have found a decent condition Bunny Hop at the op-shop(thrift store) for $1, a large Pinkie Pie 25th Anniversary plush at the op-shop for $3, and today i found a GIANT Minty plush for $5 at a fair, my heart skipped a beat when i saw her. :D
I love finding things secondhand, its so much more exciting to discover them in person! And to get them at bargain prices, cant lose! <3

oh wow these are all such awesome finds! :D

Years ago I found a bag of four ponies at a thrift store for 60 cents. One of the ponies was Diamond Dreams. I sold her to another collector years ago.

I found the white Baby Valentine's twin from Current for 10 cents. No sign of her sister.

Another day I was grumping how prices at this thrift store used to be 99 cents or $1.50 for a plastic bag of toys and all the bags then were marked around $3.00 and who was going to pay $3.00 for a bunch of pieces and fast food toys when I saw Princess Baby Sparkle hiding in one.:1745:
I'm located in St. Louis, so from time to time I find the 80's McDonalds book mark charms relatively cheap. I think I paid 10 cents for Snuzzle. I've never had the full set at once though, 'cause I keep selling or trading them off.

Keep looking. The ponies are out there.

Today, my husband and I were out sale-ing and he found a G2 puzzle with four or five ponies around a fountain for 25 cents. All the pieces are still in the box. Good find.

my find

I'll probably Never top this find. It was one of my first few finds Ever when I became interested in collecting again around 1996-- and before I'd used the net, so it was garage sale finds only!

My friend, who thought my collecting was fun and gave me some of her childhood ponies, went around to garage sales and thrift shops with me. And we found...

:wow1:A child's winter sled FILLED with G1s!! :pegasus:

There were something like 30 of them including teeny tinies, sparkle ponies, a sea pony, and a mermaid pony-- I wasn't even sure some of them Were actual MLP because my childhood collecting had only lasted up til '87. We found a G1 Dream Castle With its box at the same neighborhood garage sale.

I never find ponies like that. Well, I did one time, but they were expensive. Back a few years ago I found a dirty shy pose Applejack with her tail ribbon and a Skydancer that wasn't so nice with green and red marks all over her at an antique mall. They wanted $9 for AJ and $7 for Skydancer. I didn't want to pay that much, but I can't leave a G1 behind, even if it's not in great condition. The AJ cleaned up beautifully and now looks nice and minty. Her hair was perfectly silky and her paint was all perfect as well. Once I got the surface dirt off her, she was gorgeous. The Skydancer didn't really clean up, but I still kept her and both are in my collection. I'd love to find ponies for cheap, but thrift stores around here stopped carrying any toys and the antique stores barely ever get any toys at all.

Hmm, back when I first started collecting I had some great finds at garage sales. Not so much anymore.
I got:
Baby Princess Sparkle in a little basket with some other random toys for $0.50

A very minty SS Twist for $0.50

My husband's aunt bought me some ponies at a garage sale for $1 which included L'il Cupcake. I don't think she ever asked me to refund her so I guess she was free!

I stopped at a Goodwill store in Calgary when I was there for a friend's wedding and found 3 Pearlized Babies for $0.99 for all 3 so $0.33 each.

hehe, i got multiple good ones :p

I was extremely happy when i found my first Dutch baby Cat on a fleamarket. French Moonstone was another fleamarket find i was pretty excited with!

Back when I was still living in Germany, I used to find very nice G1s at car boot sales: a few Italians, two Princess variants and Macau Jenny... twice!

Now that I live in the UK, I'm not quite as lucky at car boot sales, though I've had some good finds. My best finds at charity shops over here are Bobbie (UK Happy Tails variant, for those of you not familiar with her) and the Mommy Surprise Pony (without her twins, sadly).

Hmmm

My best find was probably when I found perfume puff Sweet Lily, baby sea pony water lily with her floaty and Sparkler at the same yard sale all for 25 cents each. They were even all kept in their own plastic baggies

About a month ago, I got a Show n' Glow pony (Dazzle, I think her name is) for 50 cents, along with a Lanard baby fakie. I also found a flocked Totsy fakie for less than a dollar. I found a few more G1's but my Show n' Glow was the best out of them all :)

I never really do all that well at yard sales and thift stores. However, I have don't quite well on the charity of others. lol

For example:

I have gotten a lot of good ponies from friends who have given me their childhood collections. I have gotten pretty much all my PP's and HT ponies that way.

Also, there is this site called freecycle.org. Someone posted that they had a bag of ponies that they were leaving on their mailbox, and the first one to get them won. I won. lol. It was pretty much every G3 winter pony. The only thing wrong with them was minor trims to most. One had a huge hair cut, but she looks so cute that way. lol

I used that same site to post a request for ponies. Like ones that people were looking to donate or throw out (I would never ask people to just GIVE me mint ponies lol). A lady replied that she had a bag of ponies. I assumed crummy G3's, but it was a bag of nice G1's! I had most of them, but I did score an entire loving family set. I offered up the rest of them here to people who needed them. I couldn't charge people what I got for free. lol.

All of my collction comes from thrift stores. I got creamsicle for less than $30 (7 lb lot) I have 2 anchors away, (1 has like 1/2 in trim off mane and tail)$13 for one of them(7#lot),$ 20 for the other (8# lot) 6 of 7 inspirational words 25 th anniversary ponies less than $40 (8# lot), Crowning Glory, Royal Beauty $19(12 item lot). The prices may seem less than bargain, but when you figure that in addition to the ponies listed, I am also getting an average of 25 additional, sometimes up to 60, it's a steal. Butterfly Island playset with 9 ponies & all accessories for $40. I also got Crystal Rainbow Castle with 8 ponies and all original accessories & instructions for $50 on CL, and 9 complete ponyville sets plus playmat for $40, but those are my daughters.

Best find ever...

I found a So soft crumpet, a baby brother, baby mail order sweet cake, VHS version of fire fly mib bathtub, everything still sealed in bag, a mlp sleeping bag. A wedding pony baby twins, and all 6 original ponies when they first came out...Some acessories too...Best salvation army find ever all for a few bucks....Along with the odd pony plushy...

Most expensive pony ever 1300.00 repunsel MIP. My oldest daughter chosen her to go in her dresser. Did not last long in the bag. She loves her pony. Put the clips in her mane and brushes the tail now and again. She would no way ever let anyone go in her room to play with her stuff especially repunsel... May have brought the dollar value in what my daughter done, but to me seing her enjoy her very one pony and taking very good care of her is priceless.....
