D&D Pony Campaign Chat (Update 2/9)

Oh I can for sure do a Friday if that works for everyone. I think all my Fridays are open since my girlfriend works, so yeah Sunday or Friday for me. I wanna wait on @cowbrain before we hammer a date down
 
I'd love to join but with clashing time zones and my university work, I probably couldn't commit to playing. However, I am experienced with DND and I am happy to help people learn the game and make a character sheet etc. Also a MLP themed campaign sounds super awesome I hope everyone enjoys it <3
 
Would you guys prefer to do this as we discussed or as asynchronous time with dice rolling and text based through the adventure?
 
So. How are you doing this? Do certain pony types have modifiers? Do you have maps and stuff? Or is it all theatre of the mind? :O

I have found some maps that we can use to start. I figure if everyone likes it enough I’ll commission more detailed maps for future adventures.

I have my D&D beyond account so I was going to set it to homebrew and have the classes of characters stay the same. I was actually going to pm you about what to do on the race aspect and such.

Only three people are able to play if I do it live. I’m fine with a small party but so many have showed interest but the time zones clash. I thought it might be easier to run it text based still using rolls and the system just not verbally and live. I hope that makes sense?

Like with character race stats could treat unicorns like elves and earth ponies as humans perhaps? You could change the spells to be more ponyish too!

I think I would go text based too, maybe treat it like text role-playing and add dice rolls and art work etc.
 
Hi, I'm here because I heard there's no messing with timezones!:winkpony: I've never actually played DnD before, but I'm a nerd, and love ponies, and I always wanted to try playing.:ponylove:
 
Are you still accepting newbies to D&D? I've always wanted to learn how to play, and a pony themed game seems like it would make things easier for me to follow! I know how to use discord, and I roughly know how to create the D&D characters. May need a bit of guidance on the stats, since I'm used to piling on the defense points in just about every game I play lol.

Totally! I’ve only played some myself and never been a true DM before. I think the majority of the party is new players, so it’s going to be a learning experience for all of us.

It’s no problem helping you walk through it. Right now we are all mostly focused on getting the characters built and the party together before moving on to anything else. It’s the perfect time to join in.

We are indeed looking for more party members!
As for the progress in the campaign things were moving quite slowly so there is not much to get caught up on! :)

I would love to be able to watch a stream or video of the campaigns even though I am in the wrong time zone to join. Streamed DnD campaigns or videos normally turn out to be popular and fun. Our home moved around between different editions of Dnd, shadowrun, Battletech and gurps. Different Dnd race characters would be interesting translated in pony types :) ... trying to think on what type of ponies a couple of my last few characters would be,... ... hmm oh dear. I think the closest may be mountain boys :)

@flutterbubble We are doing a mix of text-based roleplaying with D&D rolls because we have players from different time zones. I hope to arrange a possible session with everyone once summer hits, and time zones don't matter for me (I'll be off work). But you're welcome to join our Discord if you like, and if you want to play along, we just put in a post once a week.
 
Thank you for the details @AutumnRoan I would be interested but would it please be ok to watch at first (with a heart condition I am not sure how present I can be as most days are pretty bad, heart running above 160 bpm leaves me pretty wasted...)
