I have a Blossom with a significantly lighter head than the body. The head is still glued in slightly, i halfway took it off to look inside, and the thicker neck part is the odd color, too, as well as the inside of the neck. The purpleish body color is kind of spread onto where the neck is attached, like the color rubbed off onto it. It's kind of a reverse of the one in the picture. I honestly don't think it's fading, because it's almost too much of a significant change for that. What do you think?

Here's a picture of her, she's alittle dirty:

Sometimes manufacturers make booboos with dyes and the other processes and this is what happens.
There are other ponies with similar issues, ex- some bluebelles have heads or part of their bodies turn white. I honestly think it's a plastic aging- discoloring issue

Thanks, but I just think it's so weird how it's just her head, the bodies fine, and it's definitely her original head. Hmm.

The Bluebelles are like that too, their head, a bit of their neck and the tips of their toes are blue but the rest of them is white. Just a weird discoloring effect =/

It's kind of cool too see one on Blossom... nice to know BB isn't the only one that was effected by cruddy dyes/plastics XD

Yeah, that's what I've been told. Bluebelles has all kinds of errors and variants and that it's unusual to see one on Blossom. I was wondering if anyone else had a Blossom issue like this.

That looks so strange! My Mexican one has discoloured spots, but I just put that down to standards at the Auriken factory rather than a Blossom thing.

I know Thundercloud often suffers from uneven fading.

Oh believe me- I've never seen a blossom as discolored as the one you have. i think it's really neat. Heads and bodies aren't necessarily molded with the same plastic batches so the mixes could be off.
She's definately a keeper though!

Looks like fading/discoloration to me. G1's are getting really old now. I guess we may see this more often now.. I've noticed ponies in my own collection fading.

alot of ponies get the head/body diffenence and personally they annoy my very much

Me too! Sometimes it's the pony's only flaw too... it can be so sad!

Wow, is her head really green or is that just the picture? She looks like she's going to be sick. I think she's cool though, you should keep her.

I would've said discoloration, but with the existence of the weird Blue Belles, I have to say I just don't know anymore...

Yeah, I don't know. It's such a thorough, drastic color different, I don't know what to make of it.

Okay, so here's three 1982 blossoms, and the main reason i dont think its faded. What I think happened is the flawed blossoms body has too much pink in it or something:

I don't think it's fading so much as just discoloration brought about by the age of the plastic. I think I've chucked a couple like yours in the bait box over the years - I can stand mismatched heads and bodies!
