Favorite Childhood Ponies?

My favorites were Peachy cuz she was my very first. I still remember opening the package w/ that wonderful new plastic smell! aaaaaah! I used to carry her everywhere in her parlor. Medly, Apple Jack (although I think AJ was my sister's). I think overall Gusty was my favorite tho, I had her and BBE baby gusty and I'd braid that red streak all carefully over and over. My "evil pony" was baby blue ember, prolly cuz he was a boy and didn't have any cutie mark. That just ain't right. ;) Unfortunately when I was about 12 I decided I was too cool and gave them all away. Oh the horror!!
 
I didn't have a childhood full of ponies until I was 19. XD My first was Star Catcher, but if I could go back and pick one pony to grow up with it would be G1 Apple Jack. When I was 4 I had learned about Johny Appleseed and I loved the idea and loved apples at the time. Curse my parents and making me grow up with worthless ol' Barbie because My Little Ponies were "dorky".

Wow, so you grew up w/ Barbie but switched over? that's AWESOME!! I didn't really get Barbie growing up...why would I want 1000 of the same doll? I had one barbie doll and one midge doll and barbie was always the evil one, stealing midge's bf's and such.
 
I had over sixty ponies as a child, but I loved Gingerbread, Princess Amethyst (+Spiny) and the babies most, especially baby Glory and Moondancer, and FT babies Tic Tac Toe, Fifi and North Star.
 
Whenever I had to choose a pony to take with me somewhere I'd decide between Curly Locks, White Tootsie, Nightglider, Hopscotch or Wave Runner.

LOL! Yes, I tried many times throughout my childhood to switch over. I actually had to save my own money (except for when my relatives got me stuff for holidays) to buy Littlest Pet Shop because it was on my parent's list of dorky items. I still need to get the point across to them that most of my childhood toys are worthless (my Teddy Ruxpin tapes and books were worth something!). XD Of course the Core 7 are getting to be like Barbie... x_x Reminds me... I should purge my doubles now that I see it being like having 10 million barbies in different poses, faces, and hairstyles... Uhg... I do like being an adult now since I pick what I like and make sure I don't end up with something I don't like. Now that I think about it, I have been asking my parents for ponies since I was 4! I'm not entirely sure if I was talking about MLP or a real one though. XD

I have 5 of Pinkie Pie, but each is very different! One G3 (2003-2007), one coathanger (2008), one sing and dance, one little plushie, and one big plushie.

I wouldn't mind a thousand of Minty, though each one unique .. but you've probably never met a bigger Minty fan. I cried the first time I saw the names of the 2008 core 7.

I forgot to mention a pony :scratch: if I can remember now who she was.....

I guess I'll be revisiting this thread when I remember.

Ooooooh, Fizzy!!!!!!!!! She was one of my childhood favourites! :hugegrin: I didn't get to play with her much because my sister used to play with her.
 
My favorite was Mexi Prince Sapphire. I remember he always got the coolest role in my pony play, and I could just stare at him for hours and do his hair in so many different ways. My mom gave all my ponies away to my younger cousins, and when I got back into collecting I asked if I could get them back since they had outgrown them too and had put them in storage. I was super lucky to get all of my childhood ponies back, including my beloved Prince :D
 
Medly was always my favorite, eventhough I never had her name right.
She was my first pony, so that's why she's my favorite.

When I got a little older, I liked Firefly, Posey, Pony bride and a bunch of
unicorns and pegasi. I also loved all the babies, and my pearlized baby
firefly was one of my favorites! And Crumpet was adorable.

Lots of favorites, but Medley's my number one girl! ^_^

Oo I'm glad so many people responded to this thread! Seems that the early ponies were quite popular. Glory, Medley and Baby North Star seem to be popping up quite a bit.
It would be awesome if we could have some sort of TP official poll to find out who the ultimate childhood favorites were.
 
well, i didnt have a whole lot to choose from but im pretty sure my favorite was baby moondancer. i loved her symbol and colors (what lil girl doesnt love pink and purple!) and of course the glitter just put her over the top!! not to mention she was a unicorn AND a cute lil baby!
i also remember loving sunlight and being jealous of a neighbor girl that had heart throb and sugarberry.
