Halloween ATC -- it's wrap-up time!

00) That's just what I was afraid of. UnicornGusty's cards never made it through the mail to me the first time, so those were to be shipped separately -- you'd know it immediately because the envelope would be from Greece.

I'll make you pumpkin gals another batch of cards to send with your costume cards-- evidently the postal service is not working in our favor this time.
 
Any more updates? Any teasers for the costume swap?? ;)
 
Thebeth's cards are shipped, so hopefully we'll be doing a mailing very soon. :D

I grabbed four cards at random as a teaser. I believe we have cards from Skeen, Fizzyland, Soccerchicka, and Lev.

Thank you all for being patient. I know from experience (both as participant and host) these swaps never seem to go off on the proper timeline, but I did a little more research on how other online ATC swaps function to see if I could swipe some good ideas on how to cut down the delays. We'll give it a try next swap and then you guys can let me know if it was better or worse than this one. I was really pleased with including the extra card in lieu of shipping costs in this swap, so I've got my fingers crossed the shipping tweak is going to work just as well.

Great news, everyone! Thebeth's cards made it to me today. Lest you all think we were exaggerating her mail problems, I took a picture of the shape the envelope was in when it arrived...it was not pretty. I didn't open it at all...it was ripped almost completely in half, and the cards fell right out into my hands. :uhoh:

Amazingly, the mail fairy smiled on us this time and ALL the cards made it safely -- not even a corner bent on any of them. Thank you, mail fairy! :eek:k:

I'll be taking pics/packaging/etc. this weekend, and barring another stupid blizzard, I'll be getting these cards out on Monday!
 
oh my.... holy cow. i seriously suggest either you or thebeth complain to your post office. that is not acceptable. we have occasionally had some mail come with open envelopes not sealed properly, but that is ridiculous. i am glad they came in the condition she mailed them. i cant wait to get mine and see what everyone else got. i bet everyone will be happy this swap is over.
 
Oh my God! that's disgusting! I can't believe they got to you in that condition! It's a miracle any of my family members got their Christmas cards this year! I thought the letters were just being dropped and lost, not manhandled! At least they made it safe... Sorry everyone! Thank you for being so patient!
 
Just confirming with everyone, the costume cards went out in the mail today. Pumpkin swappers will have an extra card from me (I know you already got freebie pumpkin cards from me, but I did intend those to be extras and not make-ups, if that makes sense.)

I'll be zooming about leaving feedback today. Last time I did a whole survey thingy for the participants to chime in on so I could get some feedback, but I think I'll leave you with a couple thoughts this time just in the thread...if you don't feel like posting out in public you can always PM me. :)

1. Next swap will probably be set for February and March holidays ("speedy" swap for Feb. and the longer swap for March).

2. What did you think about the line art swap? Did that work? Would you like to see it again?

3. Just be aware, next swap is going to be a bit different to try to cut down on the length of the swaps -- a set number of cards and a firm shipping date. This is actually the "standard" way ATC swaps run, but it's different than anything we've done here before, so make sure you read up next time before you sign up to swap!
 
Yay! now I can stalk my mail man again! hehe. I've even cleared a path through the snow for him so he has no excuse!

Wow, that envelope was trashed!! I'm amazed they all made it safe and sound. :angel:

I got mine today (the 1st), I got home from work tonight and they were on the table waiting for me! So excited!! Now I just need to get them in my album, scan and post them!!
