Howdy everypony!

:orangeleaf: Today in many parts of the world the holiday Thanksgiving is celebrated. For some of us that means celebrating with family, friends, cooking, baking and feasting. :orangeleaf:

:orangeleaf: For others it might be a day that you spend celebrating with just your pony herd or even virtually. :orangeleaf:

:Posty1: Come join in on the fun and share your version of Thanksgiving! There is no right or wrong way to celebrate the day! :Posty2:

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! My in-laws brought a bin of my old ponies that has been in their garage for over five years. Apparently the lid was removed from them at some point and they are in REALLY bad shape, but it's nice to have a bit of my old collection which is otherwise completely lost! A vast majority of these are probably beyond saving, but there are a few that look restorable and the three piggy banks all look good! It also includes the very first custom pony I ever made when I was probably 14 years old.

I dunno @BethMcBeth cooking Applejacks might be the wrong way to do it.

Today I went with my girlfriend and her friend and family out to eat at a restaurant. It was a nice day and we had a good time sitting and chatting with everyone. She is asleep right now and the heat has been out so I’m just wrapped up in blankets with pet babies. It’s been a nice time though.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My husband started the turkey in the Traeger last night, so it was finished cooking by the morning. We spent the rest of the morning making rolls, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans wrapped in bacon, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, and gravy. Sounds like we are feeding an army, right? It was just the two of us and one of my students from the university who was alone for the holiday. Too much food is just how we roll! We did put together two big plates of food for the neighbor who was working a split shift today. And of course sent as much food home with my student as she would take.

This is the first time we've eaten around 2 and I have to say, it is kinda nice being all done and relaxed by the late afternoon and evening. Might do that again.

@BethMcBeth that looks like an interesting recipe LOL

I'm beat, usually I'm more prepared and will have made a lot of stuff ahead and had it in the deep freezer but just been too busy this year. Yesterday I was off and was on my feet in the kitchen for 13 hours!! I made pretty much everything except the turkey and stuffing. Those I did today and then warmed up everything else. Let's see what did I make...

turkey with gravy, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, corn pudding, green bean casserole, cranberry relish, stuffing, rolls, broccoli, succotash, roasted baby potatoes, vegan green bean casserole, vegan cranberry mushroom lentil loaf with red wine gravy, vegan masala mac and cheese. AND THEN, apple pie, pumpkin pie, toll house pie, pecan pie, chocolate chess pie, maple ginger pie, rice krispie treats, vegan peanut butter brownie pie and a green tomato cake.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something LOL it's that darn vegan brother whose stuff is so complicated  but I love him, and I love a challenge so it's okay ;)

It was a good day though, it was about 10 of us but I still like to send everyone home with lots of leftovers. I like to watch the parade while my turkey cooks then I warm up the sides when that's done and we eat about 2:00. Now that everyone is gone and everything cleaned up, I'm ready to sink into a coma now.

My uncle said “why are you all dressed up in Halloween clothes” I’m like “it’s not, it’s bread and stuff” lol

We went to my aunts house and ate food and watched football, didn’t do much anything else

Listened to Puerto Rican Christmas Music on the way there and on the way back

Got home and Shark and I danced to the Puerto Rican Christmas music ❤️ was so fun

Gonna round the night out with some animal crossing and possibly some Final fantasy 14, can’t stay up too late! Going Black Friday shopping for the first time in almost 10 years cause it’s the first time I’ve been off since then!

I’m super excited ❤️

Happy Turkey Day!

Wowee, I'm coming to YOUR place next year! Although this year I ate with my fella's brother's wife's family, and I got to try collard greens for the first time. WOW were they good, I ate a whole bowl! I think it's really neat that different cultural groups have different dishes in their thanksgiving feasts. I'm going to make it my.goal to try as many as I can! Speaking of, I have never heard of green tomato cake but I did try tomato soup cake for the first time recently!

we were a total casserole household - sweet potato casserole, loaded baked potatoes casserole, greenbean/bacon/stuffing that I made up casserole (since I didn't have any of those fried onion ring crisps) and jalapeno chicken casserole along with the obligatory turkey (just a breast cut up was enough) gravy and apple and pumpkin pie curtesy of costco so all around we are now leftover central

oh eyah and we binged watched kung fu panda trilogy (second is my favorite but like the whole trio) hard to believe I have all teenagers in the house now!

We had 16 people come to the house for lunch. We cooked a turkey AND a ham, everyone brought a side, and I made spinach balls which disappeared before anyone made it back to fill their 2nd plate. I made 4 pies, and my daughter brought a 5th, but they were decimated. Then I played ponies with my granddaughter - we painted the flocked craft pony I brought her back from the Oakland, PA pony show - and she declared she prefers 4th generation ponies (which is great, because I have some but don't like them overmuch, so she took those ones home with her). But she did make a point to tell me how much she likes my mailorder sparkle G1 shelf. LOL! She is 5 and already has expensive taste in ponies. ;)

Brandy's Spinach Balls
1 package of instant stuffing - your choice, make as directed, set aside.
chop up spinach or kale (we grow kale, so that is what we used) as fine as you can by hand
Mix stuffing and kale in equal parts.
Beat together 2 eggs, and about a tablespoon each of rosemary, parsley and sage. Stir mixture into stuffing and kale.
Add 4 TBSP melted butter. Stir well. Refrigerate for an hour or 2.
Form into balls and place on a greased cookie tray. Spray tops lightly with cooking oil. Bake @325 for about 30 minutes.

Then I cleaned the kitchen for 2 hours, and put up a Christmas tree. (Well, the tree and the lights are up, at least.) And started boiling turkey stock, which I will pressure can tomorrow.

We ate at my parents' house at 3:30 yesterday. My sister, husband, and I cleaned since Mom wasn't feeling well afterward, and then we all had a good evening talking around the table until after 8pm. We came home, put the kids to bed, and watched M3GAN.

Today, we cleaned up fall decorations outside and put up half of the Christmas lights. We ate at my sister-in-law's at 4. She struggled with addiction for many years, so I'm glad to see her clean and taking care of herself again. Now, I'm ready for bed!

I hosted a last-minute thanksgiving dinner with my friends as we're all living far away from our families and were unable to travel. It was a delicious feast! After that we watched a bunch of old-timey Fleischer cartoons.

Before that I did zoom calls with my parents. I did have to work Thanksgiving day so I missed the Macy's parade but we still got to go home at noon.

It was a good day!
