How's your thrift store pony luck?

At the local goodwill I find ziltch (except 6 g4s including Nightmare Moon, the other 5 were donated to a use children's items store because I only collect MIB)
But sometimes when I go go Value Village I either find a bunch or none.
 
Mostly non existent. I've found 2 G3s at the swap meet and my daughter sniffed out a darling g1 fakie baby at a thrift store. I saw some G1s a long time ago but didn't get them cuz I don't like the collector's pose.

I think I have good luck when it comes to G1. G3 is amazing, G4 is common here. G2 as rare as Mimic
 
Mostly its hit not miss. I think I may have a six pony sense when it comes to finding things. I do keep my eye out for ponies. Last time I got May birthflower pony, 10th anniversary pony,two baby sea ponies, a shs sister, so soft sundance and so soft bouncy, a sparkle baby pony and a teeny tiny pony and a happy tails pony.:D
 
I used to find G3s at the local Goodwill with some regularity before FiM started, but no luck since. :/ I found a G1 at a "thrift store" that was more an episode of Hoarders, but not much luck.

There is one antique mall near me that tries to sell really common G3s for silly prices. I am *not* paying $8 for a Pinkie Pie.
 
I found one of the Magic Pocket ponies and she still had her pocket item! A blue pony with a coin. That was one of my best G1 finds. I'm finding the G1's are harder to come across these days. There's no shortage of G3's. Usually find ones I already have. G2 and G4 harder to find.

I think the most recent pony I acquired was G3 Cupcake from one of the local Dirt Cheap's. I went junking with my mom and aunt a couple days ago, and it was bust on the pony front. I did find some other neat finds, though.
 
G1 : once in a blue moon, sometimes I even need the one I find!

G2 : very rarely, but there are less of them out there.

G3 : All the time.

G4 : All the time.
 
I posted on this thread the first time, but now I've had much better luck! Just the other day I found four G2's. I've had a constant stream of G3's and 4's, and some G1's pop up occasionally. I've been pretty lucky recently!

@Skycakes Ah so lucky! Wish I could say the same.

I moved to a new city further north back in November and have been having quite a bit of good luck lately. I have found a few G1s in the thrift stores. Usually it is only one at a time but I don't complain if I am finding any at all! The best luck has been on Kijiji though, I will have to post some pics later but I have gotten a couple little herds from people locally. I picked up a plushy Firefly and like 8 other g1s for $25 this winter and quite a few others since then.
 
I've had scarcely any luck. I did find a Sweetheart Sister with an awful haircut, but she's it. Usually I don't see any gens at all. Not even a fakie.

Makes me sad, because when I visited New Mexico, I found TONNES of Ponies at the big flea market. Here? Nada, nuthin', zilch and zed.

Oh wait, I remember you said you were visiting here, so you should have tried Fox Flea. Its a pot of gold, literally... But the ponies are gold though XD

Oh yeah, and this weekend I went back and found nothing since I went to the one across the street lol
 
It is really hit or miss these days....The last pony I can remember I found was a Summer/Windy Wing and a Flutter Rose Dust....and that was like 2 years ago...but due to life events I didn't get the change to hit the thrift stores or flea markets as much as usual! And my mom is always on the look out, and found a bigger lot (24 ponies) a couple of months ago but when she phoned me I didn't hear my phone.... And she wasn't really sure to buy them, she knows the diff between a fakie and a real MLP but have no clue about generations....I think I'm going to make a kind of guide for her with pics and tips!
 
I walked to the goodwill today which is by the pizza place and before I got pizza I walked in and as soon as I turn my head BAM Giant White Celestia and she was only a dolla.
She has some paint rubs because it's obvious she was well loved but her batteries still work. Neat!
