It’s starting!!

I sympathize, we just started getting snow two weeks ago and while the land certainly needs it, I'm officially refusing to leave the house unless it's patently necessary!
Time for shivering in front of the box heater with a mug of hot chocolate while my cat steals all the blankets!

Its been lashing with rain here. Typical Scottish weather. :/ The high street was like a babbling brook last night, there was so much water!

Sounds like a downpour! Be sure to stay warm! :satisfied:Is it typical to get lots of rain instead of snow this time of year in Scotland?

I would say so... but it rains alot in general, lol. We tend to get snow around January, but you never know what the weather is doing these days!

I have no choice but to go out during snow and ice because animals need food to live and don't care if i's cold outside because they still want food.

Ugh that’s awful!! Wish I could help y’all out with the critters. Give your Momma some love from me and let her know I’m thinking of you guys.
I'll tell her.

Lol BC folk are hilarious when it snows. Sorry but the rest of the country does laugh every year y’all get that one big snow that shuts down the province. But if I lived close by I would help you and dog you out, sounds like you have good neighbours that will help you if you need it.

Well, to be fair, most of the rest of BC gets a good, heavy dose of snow in the winter. It's just us in the Lower Mainland (and the Island) that have no clue what to do if we even get a dusting of the stuff. We are complete sissies about the snow compared to the rest of Canada, and I'll be the first to joke about that. ;)

Allow me to share some cute images I found regarding that.

We actually got a tiny bit of snow fall in town in early November, actually. It didn't STICK, but it was still snowfall! At least one of our skiing mountains opened up a week early. In another (possibly?) weird bit of weather, though, the last two days it's been really foggy at night. At points, almost "can't see 5 feet in front of me!" fog. Not fun to drive through. :(

That all said, hope your winter doesn't get TOO much snow, @Skybreeze . I like the snow, especially if it's at Christmas, just so long as I don't have to go anywhere, and/or it doesn't last long. ^_^;

I‘m in Vancouver USA and it’s similar. I love the memes(cartoons?). E says I’m behind on the lingo. We normally get a whole lot of rain. The new trend is cold and dry, though.

This is so correct. But let’s be real, the mountain folk in BC are used to large amounts of snow but they didn’t send in the army for a small dusting. Just because y’all were slipping and sliding without proper snow equipment. ;p

That’s why a lot of Canadians move to BC, trade the snow for rain and beautiful nature. I’d move in a heartbeat if I could.

Exactly! One year we had snow midway through may  and it killed off all the pretty flower that had started growing
Fred looks so cute out in the snow though!
Fred says “thank you!”

I'm in the Pacific Northwest USA also, and I can definitely vouch for the comics. XD We do usually get a lot of wet, muddy weather in the winter, and then the trend over the last handful of years has been to have one snowfall event where we get snow up to our ankles or shins, it completely shuts down the city, and all the kids come out to sled on hilly neighborhood streets while parents watch for the occasional intrepid vehicle attempting to make it up or down. It's gorgeous to go for a walk in, those of us with shovel-like implements attempt to shovel, and then a few days in we are absolutely sick to death of it, LOL. After a while it melts off and we're back to freezing overnight, and our old houses that were built before insulation was such a concern just draft and draft. I wish that were easier to fix!

I went to visit family in a higher latitude and they got a healthy heap of snow while I was there, and my poor lower back was not ready for sweeping and scraping off a car every morning. With that and the various other labor I put it through in helping my family out, I'm still recovering a couple weeks later! But even though the temperatures were SO much colder (and drier, my skin was so mad!) you stay a lot warmer there because they're equipped for cold temperatures like we aren't. Warmer clothes, better housing insulation. Even shoving snow off the car kinda keeps you warm while you're outside.

I wish we got snow it’s just really really cold here
