Okay, so I know it's been years(!) since I've posted here (life gets messy) and I really haven't been collecting either, or even enjoying ponies the way a have in the past. Long story, don't ask please. But today I decided to stop off at the local Goodwill to see if I could find a decent sweatshirt, something for relaxing in the house. Didn't find a sweatshirt I liked, but browsing the rest of the store I found a small holy grail. There was also a secret surprise pony with no key or cape and a newborn twin (blue with dark pink hair and yellow symbol) in a grab bag, but I passed. However, this is something I could not pass up. This is something I've been looking for since I started collecting! A Butterick plush pony pattern! I couldn't believe it, I almost passed on even stopping in to Goodwill today. Also a big plus, it is complete, the pattern has not even been cut out. I cannot believe that I found one after all these years in such great condition. Just wish they (Goodwill) hadn't put their price sticker there.

YAYS!!! Welcome back, Lev! You've been sorely missed! How wonderful to 'see' you again after sooo long.

And many congrats on the pattern! Those are rare, rare creatures. I always dig through lookin' but have never lucked out. *sob*

So, you gonna cut it up and make a pony or keep it pristine?

Thank you foofoo,:satisfied: it's has been a very long while, longer than I realized! And it's so great to see so many friendly faces still here! I do miss this sweet community! I really need to get back into being an active member again.

I'm not sure about the pattern. It's so pristine and I am NOT a sewer at all, so I'm afraid I'll muck it all up! But I also want a herd of plushie ponies! hehe!

Thanks Skybreeze, I do miss that thrill of the hunt. I think lost it a few years back. But I also love hearing everyone's diamond in the rough stories!

You could always trace the pattern onto tissue paper, then you could try your hand at sewing a pony and leave the pattern intact. It would be the best of both worlds!

That is so cool! It’s blossom in the artwork, too! I would so make that pony.

If you can scan or photo copy it’s easier than tracing. My mom used to buy butcher paper and have my sister trace each size so she could use every pattern repeatedly. Now my brother and his fancy gadgets just scans and prints.

Lev! :xmashug::xmashug:

It's good to see you! Nice find & welcome back!

And you can get plastic sheets for pattern tracing. I bought mine from Joann's so I wouldn't have to cut up my Firefly pattern. Infinite plushies!

Congratulations on your grail!

There is a weird kind of material specifically for tracing patterns, than you can also customise them too. I never chop up a paper pattern these days.

But if you scanned it, I'm sure we would ALL love pony plushies :ponylove:
