Every single G4 i have spent money on has had some sort of factory error. Some are easier to accept than others, but for me this..is totally unacceptable. I can't stand the way this looks and I don't understand why they think its okay to do this. To me its got to be some sort of laziness to pass this sort of mistake off on a consumer. I realize you may disagree with me, but I am picky. If I spend my money on something I don't want to see a filled hole on its bum. It looks a whole lot worse in person that the photo shows its even dented in some. So far, I am even more sure that I will not spend my money on anymore of these G4 ponies. I, personally just dont like looking at this. Sure its a kids toy and kids may not notice that. I am not a kid though and earth to the toy companies...many many adults buy your toys. Toys are not bought only for kids. Yesterday I bought two MLP's from the G4 line. Both had serious factory errors you couldn't see from the packaging. My other one has creases all down its left leg from poor mold pouring. Is it wrong for any adult to want children to have higher quality toys to play with? Things that look good when they take them out of the package? For heads to match bodies? I don't like to complain but why should anyone have to sit back and settle for stuff that is not pretty to look at?

Factory errors are a given sure..I know that..we expect them. For our family though its been every single pony bought from the G4 line with the exception of the blind bags. Compared to G3 where I only found that two MIB ponies had factory errors out of my collection of over 200 and my G1 collection where I only have maybe 10 errors out of a collection of around 100..something is wrong with the percentage of factory errors I am getting from this current line.

I don't collect G4's but there are a few I have bought and I wish I never had really...sigh This is just my personal standard. I may be picky, but you can't tell me I am the only one out there that has higher expectations for toys.

Yeah that particular error is a result of the mold they make they pony in =/ It ran rampant through the 3.5 line as well.

Yea I didn't buy any G3.5's at all so thats why I am not familiar with their errors. Good to note though. Thanks for sharing that.

If you put G4s under a blacklight, their heads show up as white and their bodies a different color. I think that the heads are a totally different kind of plastic... they are much harder than the rest of the body.
As for those filled in tail holes... they're obnoxious and look terrible. And the creases on the bodies/nicks from the smoothing process are REALLY ANNOYING THE **** OUT OF ME. The worst thing so far are those nicks I tell you. They look like the pony was left in a hot car, on top of something. My Luna is really messed up from that and my Fluttershy has a bunch of nicks in her leg. Is it really that hard to maybe fix the molds or possibly check the ponies for these sloppy errors? Two gens later than G3 and we're already slacking off. :p Whatever... they're just toys, but still. I think that if I am using my limited 15-year-old's allowance, which is not very much, and wasting my time to go buy the toy, that it should be worth the money I am spending. Which means NO factory errors.

Just my two cents.

Yes mine all have nicks, those are just harder to photograph and the lines from poor molding are very hard to capture in photos. So frustrating what is going on.

The only factory error that really bugs me is when the eyes aren't painted in the indent like they're supposed to. My Blossomforth has one eye painted too far forward and the first Ploomette I bought had her eye painted too high up, so she looked like she had bags under her eyes. Luckily, I noticed before I opened her and was able to exchange her. Of course, smudged cutie marks would bother me as well.

I've been fairly lucky with the quality of my ponies (I guess it's because I look them over so carefully in the store) and the only issues I've had are dirt on the ponies (apparently the factory is filthy), small loops in the hair plugs that cause the combs to catch, and dry hair.

Yea I look them over too, but you could not see this error in the package it was hidden very well just as all my ponies have been. Its always something on the back you can't see or behind hair...blaaa lol.

lol I keep hearing about dirt, makes me wonder what they do with these things, roll them around on the floor then put them in the packages? I haven't opened any of mine so I can only hope mine are all in good shape.

Yea I have a pony I bought this last weekend that had dirt inbetween her head and neck..its disgusting. I have not removed her head to try to clean it yet..but gee she is brand new.:gonnagetit:

I once opened a Lily Blossom that had a couple of dead bugs stuck to the front of the inside of the box. She also had dirt smudges all over her. o_O

That sort of reminds me of that Simpsons episode when Bart finds the mosquito with panda syndrome inside his plastic Krustysaurus.

I don't collect G4s. I was thinking maybe they are dirty because they are in a pile on the floor before they get "put together"?

Complain to Hasbro. I can't remember if it was here or another pony site where someone complained about QC issues on a pony and Hasbro offered an exchange. If it happens often enough, maybe Hasbro will finally take the hint and improve QC.

Or stop doing exchanges.

That... is horrible. My Little Ponies are not supposed to be anatomically correct.
Y'know, something that's always bugged me about G4 toys but I've never wanted to bring up before is that the tail position's so low that it looks like they're pooping out the tail. :p

Yeah, mine have been usually pretty okay (and I haven't gotten a dirty one yet) but actually, my friend gave me the Rarity and Sweetie Swirl from her Rarity's Boutique and Sweetie had a big un-erasable glop of orange paint on her ear. I think Rarity also had a mark on her eye and quite a few imperfections that have really bothered me. I thought the orange paint was really weird though, how does that get through quality control? It was pretty obvious

Wow this thread turned me alllllll kinds of off to the G4 line. I already didn't like them! They look dirty in the boxes, the head/body mismatch bothers me, their tails come out where their bumholes should be (and now apparently they have bumholes BELOW that? LOL), and they're so TINY and PLAIN! I sincerely think Hasbro has just thrown in the towel on these, shoot. I'll buy the Fashion Styles because they, while still plain, at least match the quality of G3, but that's it. Wouldn't mind a few blind bags, but I'm in the US, so.

My biggest problem recently is with the fashion styles. I was given Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash for Christmas and they all had this awful greasiness along with the usual hideous box hair. My Rainbow Dash also had a extremely random length tail that needed to be trimmed down.

I hate the unnaturalness of the tail set on G4s >< And how thin and sad their tails are compared to their manes.

The thinness bugs me, too! It makes styling so much harder. I was surprised to see that the FS ponies had the same problem of the tail being relatively thinner than the mane.
