Over a month ago, I told you all that I was going on vacation for a week on Lake Champlain. Well, due to my digital camera being picky, and then me not getting around to it, I took my time getting the pics uploaded, and it's time to share!

Here I am checking out the rock to pick a good spot to fish, and checking out the water.

Then Gusty came down to fish with me, and she caught this cute little perch...

I decided to fish, too...after watching how excited Gusty was to catch a fish, so here's me casting out my line.

It didn't take long, and I got a nice bite! Gusty was jealous, so she didn't bother to hold the camera still. I'm sorry it's blurry, it's totally her fault.

I really liked watching sunset each night. This picture was taken a little before sunset, so you don't get the full effect, but I still like this one.

I fished so much, I caught 161 fish (really!) I was tired each night, and liked snuggling with my teddy bear.

I hope you all enjoyed my photos! :D

Haha! That's great! It looks like Sherbet and Gusty really enjoyed their fishing trip!

Wow, you sound like a really good fisherpony.
You're the cutest caster I've ever seen. Have you fished with a net before?

thanks everyone!

As for fishing with a net - no, not really. We catch and release, it's just for fun, so the only net involved is the one in case we catch "the big one". I did catch a big one - about 3 inches off shore! It was SO COOL...I caught a nice perch, and a large mouth bass chased it into shore and swallowed it, I pulled up, and caught it! Before I caught it, the bass actually was momentarily on the rock chasing the perch. No net needed, just had my dad help me lift up. This vacation was after my 2 wrist surgeries - so I had braces on my wrists and it was hard to lift. I think the fish was about 4 lbs or so, including the perch inside its belly, lol. Just a nice looking fish.

Other than that, I do like to take a butterfly net and catch tadpoles. There's a pond that dries up every year, so I catch the tadpoles and bring them to my kiddie pool so they get to develop and hop off on their merry way. :)

Didn't mean to take this so far off of a pony-ish topic, lol...I do tend to get carried away when something interests me. But here's some pony-ness: I like to take a pony with me when I travel, but I'm afraid of losing the pony. The Sherbet is one of 2 Sherbets I have, and Gusty is one of 3 of her that I have. (not my best one, you can see the marker on her shoulder) I usually take one of them, or Parasol...and Cotton Candy has been with my parents to Cancun once and also on a Caribbean cruise, and to the place in these photos. She's definitely got the most miles to her credit.

Hey, I used to catch tadpoles and minnows all the time with butterfly nets. In fact, that used to be one of my top 5 summer activities. I wouldn't hurt them, I'd always put them back because I didn't have a good place to keep them, but it was great.

I sometimes take ponies with me too- I take my extra Sunlight with the frizzy tail. She doesn't mind the possibility of a little glitter loss for travel's sake.

Good to see that you can still pull in the big fish after wrist surgery. That sounds very sensitive. Hope you heal well!
