My G3 collection finally organized!

I got tired of having my G3 collection simply stored and boxed up, but I still wanted to keep them safe from sunlight and dust. So I bought a few more cabinets and set them up in more of a display setting than a storage setting. They're kept safe, organized (although a bit cluttered still) and I can open the doors and enjoy them visually whenever I want. I still didn't have room enough to display most of the single ponies, but I've only got so much room.

I have to confess, I used to go back and forth like many people here about whether or not to keep the G3 ponies since my first love is still the G1 generation. But spending a couple of weeks opening ponies and setting up all the sets has been incredibly fun and theraputic. I enjoy them so much more now and look forward to many new ponies :D

Wow I love the way you organized it. Such a lovely way to display your ponies. Honestly I still only display all my G3s. I'm always afraid to ruin my g1s(from sunlight, dust etc) Great job!!

I find it to be alot of fun to decide how you want your ponies to look on display and how you want the pose to look. Just thinking about it makes me what to go and reorganize my display.
 
I think that is one of the best arranging jobs I have seen...so organized and clutter free! You must have spent a lot of time.

I can't believe it. That was so beautifully organized, I would love to have a collection like that. I thought I had a lot when I was moving and packing up all my ponies- but god I am nowhere in the same league as you!

Do you know how much your whole collection is worth? I mean, how much you spent total on it? Not counting the drawers. You don't have to post, I was just curious if you kept track. I do, and I thought I spent a lot, but boy I didn't compared to what that must have cost! My whole collection is only well into 500 dollars. (Counting all Generations and my laughable one playset! and books!)
 
Thanks - I just try to pick up whatever new releases come out. I don't really keep track of how much I spend.....since that would probably scare me right out of collecting! :lol: At some point I will tally up a rough value estimate and get some additional collector's insurance. But the main chunk of the value of the collection lies in the G1's. Unfortunately, I don't have proper space to display them they way I want to so they're packed up safely until I get that chance :) In the meantime, it's nice to have some ponies out to enjoy again!
 
That's such a fantastic way to display! I might actaully be able to convince my hubby to let me do that - I would love to get mine out of plastic bins... He just hates the way they're cluttered on the shelf when I have them out. I can't blame him for that - he does support my collection! :D

I'm only on page 18 (and still going), but I just HAD to stop and comment on your collection. Just...WOW!!! I am absolutely in LOVE with all your stuff!!!! I'm thinking of saving your page to my favorites and coming back and looking at it every once in a while. I'm just facinated. Very, very nice setup and I'm having SO much fun looking at everything. *dies of envy*
 
all the colors! Makes me want to take out my G3s and display them again. You really have a beautiful collection, and I love the way you display them!

Thanks guys :) I'm already thinking about getting a couple more cabinets, seeing as there should be a bunch of new ponies coming out before Christmas. I'm not sure where they'll go though.

But my next big project is to clean, groom, restore and photograph my G1's. Now THAT'S a big project!!

WOW you have some really beautiful and hard to find sets there! I sure wish I had the chance to get some of them :) Sadly I'm in canada so no exclusives for me :( Its really too bad because I would like to collect some of those G3's. Ahh well I'm happy enough to have found a couple of divine shines :)
