New 2009 pony pics from Paris Toy Fair

for some odd reason, I think rainbow dash is kinda cute....but definately in a really,really weird, almost anime-ish kinda way.(not to offend those that enjoy anime! :)

I dont know what hasbro was thinking with this...:mad:

At least they have normal MLP eyes!

After the first shock, I suddenly realized the RD proto is probably one of the new Super-Long Hairs just like Cheerilee. They both have this new eye design that looks (IMHO) half-decent on the latter but evil, wrong, demonic, possessed, drugged and fakie on Rainbow Dash.

...I honestly thought someone had just thrown acid in my eyes. What the...?! Where's her EYE WHITE for Christ's sake?! :circle: Her little deformed tweety bird beak and big, soulless eyes remind me of the Cataquacks:

I have to admit though, I'm over the first shock. I have a big heart when it comes to ponies, but that RD slapped the spirit right out of me. She was the first picture I clicked on in the MLPArena thread. She scared the life out of me with her big, vacant fish eyes. I honestly think her eyes don't look so bad now I realize a lot of manga and anime characters are designed with similar eyes. She is already starting to grow on me. Her eyes remind me of Winx and Barbie pixies.

I do think the angles in both Cheerilee's and Rainbow Dash's pictures are a bit off. You should never photograph a pony up front. It looks odd on ANY MLP, just try it. I also think you should never photograph a chibi pony from the side, when she is completely turning her head away. The angle gives you a wrong impression of the head mold. Rainbow Dash is turning away from the camera.

Personally I like the new molds, I'm just worried about the future eye designs now. I love the classic MLP eyes of the Pony Friends assortment- they look so cute, I adore them! Why Hasbro had to 'update' the face paint, is beyond me. Sighs.

Let's just wait and see. Hopefully the NY Toy Fair will re-establish my faith in Hasbro's product design.

.........Wow....just wow,that's really all I can say. This is all so wack.. Cheerilee looks so scary and that stuffy,OMG,hideous!!! I think the Rainbow Dash is kinda cute,she looks like a duck,strange little nubby nosed creatures! I'm looking forward to more pics!
 
I honestly don't know what to say about them. The starsong plush is just hideous, well and truly scary. As for the other pony's....i really don't like the ones with plastic bits in their hair just to make them have some crazy freaky hairstyle and i just don't like the whole 'chibi' look on ponies. They honeslty look like fakies to me more than they do actual MLP's. They look about as far removed from horses as is possible and the eyes on those prototypes (or whatever they are) are just as freaky as.....I honeslty see this as being the end of the G3 MLP line. I just can't see it doing well after these. They're just creepy and seem to lack the magic that MLP is supposed to have.

Wow, they are aweful!!! The pics that Satinslipper showed of the 2009 model at least had good eyes that look in a direction. These I wouldn't even say they look high--they look like someone stuck an icepick in their brain and now they're just drooling idiots. I think they need to be put down. Twilight, I think you have the right idea. :nodno:

The one on the left is one kind of pony, I think the regular kind and the one on the right is a special hair kind (if I could tell by the catalog). I hope this is just the preview (or camera angle) but their pupils are way too big and empty looking. They kind of do look a bit stoned. They would be kinda cute otherwise. I really like their bodies but the roundness of the head and the little beak, I guess I'll just have to see them in person.

The eyes are what always made MLP different. You always knew you had a real MLP by the sweet eyes. Well, until the fakie companies started copying the molds and making cuter stuff!

I think I will soon be done collecting now.
Maybe I will console myself with a new LPS...

Yes, I think its over for me too! even some of the Ponyville look like they have those big eyes, I like the cuties and the house, but not the wierd eyes or that freaky Starsong.
