Okay, I'm moving on to my third custom project, and she's "required" to have a red body.
I was just reading on the customization project site that rit dye eventually fades down the road. With that said, should I go the way I did the previous two and paint the base color on? I had a bit of a time with the one I made for the little girl as a thank you gift (G1 base), but no problem with Orange Warrior (G3 base). This next one will be a G1 base, but she was a 1990 secret pocket pony, so she's fairly large and rigid, which I'm liking for this new project already. I'm planning a lot of intricate detail work as I'm going to try and stretch my talents here, more than the last two combined, but I don't want to even think about re-dying her down the road if she comes out the way I want her to... yet, I don't want to spend a lot of time painting a red base coat on her if I don't have to.
What would you guys and gals do in my shoes? :worthy:
