Now, looking at the skinny frowning princess pony thingy from different angles, she doesn't actually look as bad as I intially thought, but she's still a tad.. weird to me :lol:

Spike looks adorable <3 Though... he looks like he just stepped out of the Littlest Petshop after one hickle of a makeover :p

The ponies, or pwnies as they fittingly have been dubbed, well they're cute but I am not overly crazy about their new looks, but it's refreshing and a good business plan, assuming that the new looks are aimed at what kids seem to like these days, like victorose said. I do hope we get lots more characters than just that, I'm fed up with pink and purple G3s.

Is that Applejack though? OMG I want, but then again, I'd want any Applejack so that's no surprise. Cute pigtail thingies too! <3

That big lady, I'm not really sure she'd be a villain, but it's a valid guess. I'm fearing - just a little bit - that this might actually be a rendition of the Flutter ponies or something. Or maybe it's a Dream Beauty thingy. Though not as bad looking as I though, she still freaks me a little bit, it's like Barbie's Magic Unipeg went Emo or something :uhoh:
 
Oh oh oh!! Maybe the big one is actually a combination of multiple ponies when they need super powers to vanquish some evil! Kinda like how transformers used to attach to each other to form a super robot thingy! Someone should start a raffle with guesses or something!:clap:

Yeah, the Hasbro Toy Fair prototype is much nicer. More . . . professionally rendered. No floppy glove-wings or gimmicky button on her butt.
 
That's NOT a My Little Pony! :( That's just frightening.

No offense to anyone who likes it, I just think it's pretty awful.
 
She's as much MLP as Dream Beauties or the Sweetheart Sisters. Man, I wish the TP and Arena had been around back in the 80s, haha. Can you imagine the drama everytime a new gimmicky set came out? I'd love to see fan reaction to the eyelash princess ponies or, heck, the Twinkle Eyes even. "Oh they're freaky!" "They're coming to get me!" "They're like zombie ponies!" ;)

Anyway, I hope they go with plastic and not horrible fabric wings. Otherwise she's okay, she's a one off after all. I still LOVE the other ponies and that Spike is a-DOR-able!

I'm going to be pretty disappointed if Spike is reduced to the role of "pet". But then again, it would be jarring to hear him with a new voice actor so maybe it's for the best.

The toys pictured above, I find myself thinking of them as My Little Pony merchandise, like those Spanish comic MLP figurines from the 80s or the MLP stampers, rather than actual My Little Ponies. So the new take on Applejack and the others doesn't bother me. That's also why I prefer them with non-brushable hair--to me, they're just figurines. Not "real" ponies, if that makes sense.

Although, seriously, did we have to have Pinkie Pie? I'm so sick of her.
 
So Behind on the New!

Wow I have missed alot. The last thing I saw was the skirts! I cant find those in stores, but if someone has just the skirts to sell I would be up for...I have just have wait a few months before I can spend again:p

The new pony is in its own thing really neat. I just dont want that to be the soul new pony. It does look creepy! It has its own instreating charm...but I really liked the G1 and starting out G3 styles. Not a huge fan of the G3.5 if thats what its called:p

The pictures is really super cute:) I like the rainbow! Symbol is blah...maybe more color could make it pop!

I want the magazine that picture came from. Is there a way for me to get it?

I am all for being creative, but this is ridiculous. I like the anime styled ponies and I must say pegacorn / unipeg looks WAAYYY better in the toyshow pics, but still... They look like large versions of cheap plastic PVC figures.

Yeah, they are G1 re-issues.

COULDN'T THEY RELEASE THEM IN A STANDARD G3 BODY WITH SOME NICE AND DECENT HAIR? HUH? HUUUH? IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR???

Even the Dollymix G1 ponies have normal ponyhair, seesh.


I'll crawl back into my corner now, so I can sulk and pout some more over this new Hasbro fail.

No. The ponies in the Toyfair pics are prototypes only. Those released in stores (like the pic in the first post) will have brushable hair.
 
Not sure about the unicorn pony, she looks kinda weird. But the new pegasus looks super cute, if they make a toy of her I think she may have to come home with me ;)

I don't recognize her at all.
I *thought* this was the new Rainbow Dash. So maybe someone went back and just created G1 versions strictly for this comparison.
 
that FB blue peg looks like a blue Paradise. but over on DA, on a picture d one by someone who is working on the show said that was the new Rainbow Dash. and why would they go back and make G1 comparisons if it is RD; they have PP and apparently now SB comparisons, so it' snot like they're saying these are ONLY G1s brought back. that is totally screwy now

though i'd like the laugh and say i used that pose for my custom-if it is suposed to be Paradise in blue though, she wasn't in that pose. unless there's a blue Argie Paradise *can't remember* but still haha

these FB comparisons just make me unhappy sometimes

That's really weird. Because yeah, like Kat said, the artist working on the show has said that the new blue pegasus is supposed to be Rainbow Dash. Those G1's look like Paradise, except of course Paradise is a white pegasus with bright red hair. I don't know if there is a foreign variant of her colored like that or not. It's easy to edit colors, so it really could've been made to just look like it can compare to the new pegasus, but who knows. If it's Rainbow Dash like the artist said, and I think she'd know, I don't get why they aren't comparing her to previous RD's.
 
Earlier they had the picture of Sweetie Belle as the G1 TAF Scoops till I brought up the fact it was a certain G3 unicorn! Then they took down the picture and edited it to be Sweetie Belle.
 
I'm under the impression that the person running the hub pony page is not affiliated with hasbro or hub (just a normal person)and has no idea what they are doing...

Edit: oh yeah the page says it's unofficial.
