Three years ago, I picked up a Posey and a Sweet Stuff from a local comic convention. They were both pretty ratty and messy, so I decided to restore them. It took me three years to do it, but they're finally finished.

I'll start off by posting a few before pictures. Sadly, I must have forgot to take a picture of Posey's hair before I pulled her head off, but she was just as bad as Sweet Stuff, so you can get a general idea of what I had to deal with.

I wasn't able to get every spot off of Sweet Stuff, but I got most of the really bad ones. The ones that are left can really only be seen up close.

Posey was very well behaved while I was rehairing her, but Sweet Stuff was anything but sweet. I'm guessing that she suffered from plasticizer leakage at some point, because she was a hard as a rock. I ended up sacrificing three needles whilst I was rehairing her, but I finally got her finished. I used a hairdryer to soften her bum up so I could pull her tail through and again on her neck so I could pop her head back in. It worked beautifully and it only took about a minute or two for the plastic to soften up enough.

I was initially going to cut their hair to their original length, but while I was waiting for Posey's mane glue to try, the long locks grew on me, so I decided to keep them both as is. I only trimmed Sweet Stuff's hair about an inch or so to get it somewhat even. They're both wearing cowry shell necklaces so I'll know that they've been modified from their original versions. I spent enough time trying to get spots off of them before rehairing, so I wasn't about to make another mark.

Here are the two ladies all done up and rehaired.

All in all, I'm very pleased with how they turned out. I would like to give a special shout-out to Skybreeze and CalliopeQT for the heating idea and LightningSilver-Mana for the pin idea for widening the hair plug holes. I'd also like to give a big thank you to all the members of the MLPTP forum for being such a great place.

Your girls turned out great!!! We’re always here to help, if we don’t help people who truly want to fix up a pony we will eventually loose them forever. :(

I still can’t get over how beautiful Sweet Stuff’s hair colors are when blended together in her tail. Pictures really don’t do it much justice.

Nothing quite like a head and tail of nice silky shiny hair where a buzzcut used to be.
