Hey all! Some images have appeared via Amazon showing the original 6 with new "40" logos.

:star: Please remember that as with all early images / prototypes / marketing photos, small details may be subject to change :star:

These are the first images we're seeing since the toy show tour with Basic Fun products displayed, and I hope that it's a jumping off point to some really interesting G1-themed items to come next year:

So far the listing appear on Amazon Australia and Amazon Spain (screencap above) but no listings are available to buy yet.

The price point and availability is not yet known.

Blossom, just blossom… are their legs getting closer together?

I'll probably be adding them to my collection if I can buy them. Lol. :satisfied:

Erm...I'm sorry Hasbro/BF, that looks really tacky.

@Skybreeze Because everytime you smell that sweet new pony smell, it releases a subliminal chemical in your brain to buy moar poneez! Run Sky, and don't forget your sacred febreeze!!!

Yeah, I don't really like it :(

I so wish I could use that as an excuse. But all my repro’s and newer ponies live within the confines of their factory sealed boxes. I’m just a hopeless case.

I will likely buy one or two (likely Bluebelle and Minty or Butterscotch) just because of the “40” on the symbol design but not all because CP is my second least favourite pose.

Hmmmmmmm. It's great to have the info! I'm just not sold on the symbol change at all, and I feel like the collector pose ponies have been done and done and done at this point. (I sold my Flat-foots in 2009, and only kept the concaves.) I'd be much more interested if they re-released some ponies from later in G1!

Its a cute idea!! I can see why some people wouldn't like it but i dont mind it. I just dont have room and would rather save money for other releases!

I think they have interesting designs but Im not sure if I want to buy them. I never seem to see these releases in my neck of the woods anyway.

Good for collectors, but not that inspiring to actually play with I think. I don’t mind a few basic poses in a group of ponies, but prefer more variety because the different poses add so much more personality. I always liked playing with mine, though, so these may appeal to people looking for matched sets to pose on shelves? I agree with Jellybean about wishing for re-releases of other ponies. I would rather add “new” faces I always wanted but missed out on the first time… I think repeating the same set (especially the 1st that only has 1 pose) every anniversary will see diminishing returns as only true fans of this pose will splurge for every update…whereas, releasing some from the vault will inspire a wider audience. Collectors AND people nostalgic to replace a lost favorite AND newbies or customizers looking for particular poses… I may not be best judge, though, as I started my childhood collection with Moondancer + Firefly, so don’t have the special attachment to “1st pose” that some people might. I had a homemade school room, a show stable, a nice set of wooden fencing appropriated from Breyer models, and spent hours developing characters, families, and storylines. I like G1s for the expressive poses, soft rubber bodies, and facial expressions…but have been watching the TV shows recently and actually think the storylines in “Friendship is magic” are closer to what my friends + I actually did with our G1 ponies in the 1980s. I don’t love the G4 look (and, not enthused about the hard plastic bodies I have seen so far), but the original My Little Pony + friends episodes were never as important as the worlds we invented based on the “personalities” of the ponies we had. The basic pose ponies we had access to (Peachy, Lemondrop, and one other if I recall correctly) were good for sweet/shy characters or shopkeepers, but more lively poses usually played main character roles in our games. I will likely get 1 or 2 if I find them, but am more inspired by the rainbow ponies from prior anniversaries…and would love to recover Applejack, Bow tie, and the sitting ponies I never found back in the 80s! A new anniversary G1- sized pony outfit or accessory set would be nice; props (from the extravagant like Paradise Estate or school of dance or sweet shop to the simple costumes) were a major focus at the time. I think these served the central “theme” role for G1 that media (TV characters, etc) seem to play for G4+5. My best friend + I often used a new outfit or prop as the impetus for adding on to our pony world… the early costumes in particular often “brought in” characters or references to popular culture scenes or activities/characters of the time. From what I have seen since returning, G1 pony accessories are fairly popular with collectors too?

I like that they're changing things up with the collector pony rereleases! When collecting more than 1 version of a character I prefer that there be visual differences between them. I'm not sold on the design quite yet, but of course it's a proto, and if I like the Snuzzle when she's released I might get her for my army, since she's different :) In comparison I haven't gotten any other g1 repros so far because I'm more interested in design differences than faithful reproductions.

Now if they REALLY wanted my attention, a TAF version of the collectors ponies would get me!

How many repro collector sets do we need? We've got 3 anniversary sets, plus the darn funko pops and world's smallest. >_< Trust Hasbro to take the laziest routes. Plus Butterscotch's hair is still the wrong color.
